Oxymorons

That's why whenever I see those irritating little books I pronounce it "Hooked on P-honics"... afterall, if you're learning to read phonetically. Irritates the hell out of the wife.

Here's another one that George Carlin brought up: if two planes almost collide why do they call it a near miss? They did miss. Why isn't it called a near hit?
