I recently found a set of Polished MP Magnum Valve covers brand new on ebay listed for $20.85, so I jumped on it. I knew it was probably a typo. Sure enough, after I paid, they sent me a message saying that the auction was for gaskets. I went back and looked, and it clearly said Polished aluminum valve covers, gaskets must be ordered separately. Should I hold them to it, or take the refund?

they probably risked the chance that they would sell for more to save the listing fees.

deal is a deal, copy the ad and have them explain where it says gaskets. deal is a deal. i would hold them to it.

It was a buy it now only, not a regular auction. I think they left a zero out of the price because they are usually over $200

hold it to them they would do it to u report them to ebay

Negative feedback hurts em where it counts. If they don't send your YOUR valve covers let them have it. And lodge a complaint with ebay.

Was this an individual or a business? What are their ebay stats, no. of sales, feedback score, etc.?

Do you think it was an honest mistake or did they mislead you then make your decision

Just to protect yourself and keep them from changing the page better save the ebay page to your PC so you will have the listing as it was shown. Otherwise they can change it (even after the autction ends for buy it now stuff) and then you won't have a leg to stand on.

It's a business. If it were an individual, I would definitely let them off the hook.

I don't think they were intentionally misleading anyone. I think it was just a typo.

they listed them at that price, not your fault they did not catch it......

I've posted a few things on ebay, but you can review your add before you post it, and then you can revise it if there are no bids, its the companies loss if someone screwed it up, if this is just the small business man I would back off, give em a break, everyone makes a mistake, although I have meet a few who are never wrong, as I am sure you have. Its a decision you will need to make, Happy Holidays

who is the seller? is this the norm for them? if it is well, I don't think I would be watching their items anyway.
or is this nothing but a typo?
if it's a typo, honest mistakes happen everyday.
a solution best to both parties can be had I would think. For those jumping on the go get em bandwagon, I hope your not put in this situation as a seller.
move on.

Like someone else said if an individual I would give them a break, but being a business....live and learn! Hold them to it, but watch the shipping fees now....they will probably be outrageous. NO different than walking into a store and holding them to a product "mis-priced"

I'd say do what is right. You KNOW that they're worth more than 20 bucks. The only reason you could justify not paying the fair price is if they decide on their end to suck it up. You WON'T get them for that price no matter how loud you yell so the only thing left to do is decide whether or not you're going to trash their feedback over this. As previously mentioned, Karma is a ***** or as another guy put it, You reap what you sow. Do unto others and all of that.
Merry Christmas

If your asking the question here, you obviously think its unethical to take them. Just because 18 out of 24 people say you should, doesn't mean its right. Do what you think would be the right thing to do, your the one that has to live with your choices.

If you are asking what do then you know what the answer is.

You even said it yourself it was probably a typo.

Its Christmas take the high road!

I know you will make the right decision.
