I have just installed the drivers side TTI headers in my '69 Dart 340.

I am ready to start the passenger side install and the instructions clearly state to remove and DISCARD the engine to trans brace.

Does TTI know something that Chrysler didn't know? Discard?

Lots of 10 and 11 second cars running around without those braces, including mine. The little extra support they provide between the engine block and bellhousing is not a necesssity.

wow...lots has changed in the last 30 years...the last time I put headers in anything. But on the plus side I know how to remove the idler arm. Did that three times. Also discovered what my car needs next. Everything with a bushing.

So, the factory decided to spend the money, and install the brace.
What header company has an engineer that decides the brace is not needed, due to him not wanting to route pipes by it?
Just a passing thought.

I once read in Mopar Action where E-berg mentions those braces were to reduce NVH. I don't think they were a strength/support thing.
