Plasma or LCD?

JR, We bought ourselves a 52" Samsung LCD this year. I did a lot of research and found that while a lot of the industry says Plasma is still viable and way better than it used to be, it still made me nervous. Added to that, they are on the way to being obsolete technology. I didn't feel the added expense for the LED was worth it. I really can't tell that much difference. The thing to really watch for though is when you buy be sure to look at the model numbers, go online and read several different reviews. Some sites get paid by the manufacturers for their reviews so you have to read a cross section to get a clear picture (pun intended). Stores like Walmart and Target seem to have good prices but the units they carry are either last year's model or stripped down store versions. We got a high end tv (not the very top though)at Costco for not much more than Walmart wanted for the cheaper stuff. Costco also provides free customer help lines, a no hassle 90 day return policy and best of all two extra years on the manufacturers warranty on all their big screen HD tvs. Here's the one we got: LN52B610
