360 intake and carb combo
I use the info stored in my brain.
Believe it or not, the basic information below the head is the same from back in the mid-'50s clear up into 2000 and later.
Similar information is also located on the distributor pad on B engines and the top valley pad on RB engines.
Pure simplicity at it's finest.
The only real information that you need is the year and displacement, all else is redundant.
HM340 is 1972 340 built at Mound Road assembly.
When finding a letter preceding the assembly plant, it correlates to a year from 1965 through 1973 and reads, as follows:
A 1965
B 1966
C 1967
D 1968
E 1969
F 1970
G 1971
H 1972
J 1973
Remember that Chrysler started using numbers in 1973, so 1973 can be either J or 3 and the letter 'I' is skipped in the sequence.
Pre 1965 also uses an alphabetical letter to indicate the year, but I haven't memorized those. :)
The numeric list is as follows;
0 is '80, '90, '00
1 is '81, '91, '01
2 is '82, 92, '02
3 is '73, '83, '93
4 is '74, '84 '94
5 is '75,'85, '95
6 is '76, '86, '96
7 is '77, '87, '97
8 is '78, '88, '98
9 is '79. '89, '99
