All in the family

Being as I,m not having any luck posting elseware this is a reply to rare cars. My grandfather who raced in the late forties and fifties had two of the very first corvettes produced. He had done a favor for an organization which had told him if there w2as anything he wanted to let them know. When the corvettes came out thats what he wanted. He raced it around Detroit. It ran 161MPH. He came about the second because the trans went out. GM was very proud to get the car back because none of the others would break 160. By the way One of the cars was supposed to go to Arther Godfrey, the other I believe was to go to Guy Lombardo. Oh yeah the track at Flatt Rock banned the car because it was a rag top. But the first car passed the feature driver taking hot laps twice. That was probably the rarest cars in the family, however, my father had a 63 Plymouth max wedge that he ran in the sixties. It was named the Wailer. It also ran in Detroit at Detroit Dragway, and Milan. I could tell some good stories about that period as well. His next car was a 65 corronet with a Hemi he traded the Max Wedge for it. He then traded for a 67 Can Am Cuda which ran 12.8s from the factory. He then traded it for a Hemi Roadrunner (for the engine). He converted thr RR into a 383 and sold it(who would of thought). Back then we would junk out cars for no reason. On to me I had a 64 426/4spd. Plymouth Savoy, a car in which I never got to drive. My brother borrowed it the night I got it and wrecked it instead of going to work (which was why he borrowed it). I had a 67GT Mustang 390 spd. That was a fun car. Next was probabally the most rare or unique car I owned. It was a 67 Ford Torino dealer optioned car. Basically1 of 1 this car had all the options including a floor 4spd with a bench seat. This was a real sleeper. I drove this car to the scrap iron junk yard to be crushed (any body want to kick me?). Next was a 70 Montie Carlo with a 400SB in it I sold it for 150 bucks because it needed a timing chain. Another fun car was the 72 Charger SE with a 400 big block It went for 500$ That 500 went towards my 63 sport fury 440 4spd. that went for 1300$ when I gave up on cars. Well I now have a 67 Cuda which is about to break the bank. I was decieved into thinking I could restore it. I have concided into thinking on a street rod. That takes me up to date. From a corvette to a cuda No real regrets, Just sorry for bad judgement.
