Mine wasn't the rarest by any means, but I let go of a 1964 plymouth Valiant 4 door, slant six, push button automatic. It was my granddaddy's car that he sold me for $1. I wish I still had it!

When I got out of high school (1971) I needed a car. I had some money saved up, so my dad went with me to find one. Even though we live in a small town, there were two 1968 GTS Darts at two different dealers. The first was a 383 4-speed, black with a red stripe. The second was a 340 4-speed, blue with a white stripe/ My dad wouldnt let me get the 383 one, so I wound up buying the 340. Had it for 6 years, then a drunk driver hit it while it was parked, and severely damaged it. I took the insurance check and bought a used 73 Cuda.

As far as the ones that got away, the thing I regret most, is that after I got married, and started a family, I got out of cars as a fun thing, and basically bought whatever we needed. As mentioned, we live in a small town, and there were no old muscle cars driving around, or even sitting around. There were no cruise-ins or anything like that, and like a lot of people, I just thought that the good old days were dead and gone. I didnt have any idea that there were so many cars out there, hidden in peoples garages and barns, or that so many people were still keeping the dream alive.

Now that I'm back into it, I regret missing all of those years, especially at the prices that the cars used to be going for.

Rarest for me was long ago when I was just a kid (20) Had a 69 GTX that was a factory Dick Landy prep car.....Heater, radio delete, lightweight body parts, seat belt strapped windows, 440, dana.
