Why are Superbirds worth so much?

They were just bad ***. A good friend of mine had one in 70. We went from WPB to Daytona for a race and I remember on I-95 he ran it up and you could feel the backend drop at about 100. Crossing 120 the front end dropped what felt to be a foot. Coming up on traffic there was a bus in the left lane with a car in front and back in the right lane. In a smooth move he threaded through them like it was on rails. At 165 I hit the floor, that was fast enough for me. 440, six pack, 13 to 1's and it chewed up starters about once a week.

Thanks for the memories Bob!
