I am considering upgrading to an Alterkation K member for my 67 Barracuda street cruiser. Can anyone who has done the conversion tell my about the turning radius compared to stock and Also how much lower the stance of the car would be. I am not a fan of sitting low in the grass if you catch my meaning. Any feedback and pictures would be great.

Go to www.bigblockdart.com

Bill Reilly, the owner of RMS that makes the AlterK, started the website and a lot of the members are using it. A-body Joe, who is a member here and on there, has one and all I've seen are postive comments from him and everyone else that has one. If I wasn't so cheap and didn't have a welder, I would consider getting one myself.

the height is adjustable. as far as turning radius goes. i don't know, never really compared it. i have never had any problems with t i can say that much.

well basically the entire front suspension looks like its stock including the rubber bushings. After you calculate everything that would need to be replaced or refurbished it is quite a chunk of change. the Alterkation kit covers all that plus take out weight plus give you header room. that covers most of my reasoning.

That is my same reason for considering one also. Control freak IFS has a front suspension system for the a bodies also.

Absolutely Positively stay away from Control Freak!!! They are COMPLETE JUNK! They copied the Alterktion, and did a horrible job doing so...Do a search on here, you'll find threads about them...Also, do a search over at Bigblockdart.com, you'll find a few threads about them too...Buy the one and only, real deal, absolute best front end available....That is the Alterktion....

Oh I have read the horror stories. Alterkation looks to be the best option. Heard too many negative comments about MagnumForce and I don;t know if XV is going to do an A body K member or not. So Alterkation looks to be the best bet.

I have been running the Alterkation setup for about a year now. Its a great setup for the street and for the track. I have no issues with it even when pulling the front wheels 2 feet up in the air.
Bill is a great guy to deal with and he really stands by his work.

RMS....only way to go.

I love mine...have it set up with Air ride suspension all around...4 link in the rear.

I can dial in the amount of rebound on each shock and control air pressure at 4 corners with my finger inside the car.

Heavy duty easy to install and many options are all good reasons to buy.

STAY AWAY FROM JUNK.....you know the tube stuff...looks cool but bends like a willow.

how much did that setup set you back? if it's okay that I ask?

price can vary a lot. there are quite a few options, power or manual rack, budget brakes,11"wilwoods, bigger wilwoods, single adjustable shocks, milti adjustable shocks, he even sells a torsion bar version of the alter-k. your best bet is to give bill a call and talk with him, then decide hat you really want/need and price it from there.
