Curtains for the Teutuls?
Having been a professional bike builder, I watched the show trying to figure out how Sr. marketed those bikes and made the money he did. I'd still like to meet him some day. He may come off like a jerk but anyone whose spent anytime in the motorcycle business knows that this is normal, no joke. His actions aren't even close to some of my customers at the time either. Lots of tough guy A-holes. It got pretty old after about 10 years of it so I got out and changed careers. Back in the day you couldn't survive being a "nice humble guy" in this line of work. Even the mechanics would fight behind the shop. It was what it was. There were no wealthy people or celebrities other than the occasional doctor or lawyer who liked to play dress up on the weekends and tow thier bike to Sturgis.
Shortly after I got out, a bunch of celebrities started to buy the style of bikes that Sr. and Jesse were building and BOOM! Prices hit the sky. I'm pretty damn sure both these guys paid their dues before getting rich, and nothing was handed to them on a platter. I know what it's like having been in the business and having to deal with the dregs of humanity that slide in on their own grease, then trying to collect once the work is done. Jesse doesn't have "Pay UP Sucka" tattoed on his fists for nothing, lol.
I admire Jesse and the Tuetls for their ability to change things around in their favor and for their talent, even though their styles are certainly not mine. To me function IS form. Anyway, I'd really dig a chance to pick their brains and find out how they did it. I've also seen a few shows where Jesse goes in to a HS auto shop and gives away some tools (very cool and he has my respect for that).
As far as Mikey and Jr. are concerned, to be honest, I don't really care other then I hope they can survive and do well.
