muffler choices

The 3 quitest mufflers I have ever run are;

Thrush , cheap units. They cost me about $17 a few years ago.
Hooker Aero Chambers, $50 a pop.
Summit racings @ 2-1/2 inchs. They came with the exhaust kit.

For cruiseing the quite hood, call summit. On acceleration, you'll not be disapointed.

Well, I decided to x the x pipe for now, and went with the Summit 2.5" system that is supposed to be made for Hooker Comp headers since those headers are on my car now. Went to my buddies shop and we put the car on the lift and it was a nightmare to install. The drivers side went on OK but hangs too far below the rear bumper. The passenger side didn't fit well at all. Turns out that header must have been changed out to something other than a Hooker Comp. That explains that mess. I had to cut pipes to make it fit. It also hangs way too far below the rear bumper. Anyone else have this problem? I wanted to put factory style tips on the pipes, but there is no way because of how low they are. They sound nice at idle, aren't too loud when cruising, and bark well at full throttle, but I hate the way they look.
