kill stories

(my 340 Duster)
I was sitting at a light... a friend with an Olds (gran prix I think) with a 455 rocket pulls up at the exact moment the light changed ( I wasn't watching the mirror so he caught me off guard). All of a sudden there's a car beside me as the light changes. I stomp on it (which I never did- I always gave just enough gas to win lol) and the car picks up and is gone- the Olds is way back in a hurry.
A guy I work with comes up the next day- he was sitting at the intersection coming the other way. He's like :tongue9: He says 'your whole car lifted up and just launched. I've never seen anything like it!'
Apparently the traction bars made a hard launch look pretty cool:-D

Another time I was sitting at a light watching a guy with an old (late '60s) Chevy truck (only thing I know about it is that it had a chrome cowl) pulling up, timing the light to hit it at speed while I'm sitting there stopped. So I started to work on the stall converter, and was ready. He hits the intersection as the light changes, and starts to pass me. I say 'starts to pass me' because by the time his back tire is even with my front bumper, I'm passing him. Before we hit the other side of the intersection, I'm in front. I think he was a little surprised to say the least.

my favorite with my Stealth was when a guy with an old big block Firebird pulled up beside me at a light- when it changed, we both pulled away slowly, waiting for the other guy to make a move. After about 50 feet, I hear him punch it (and his tires blazing). I walk on it, through second gear (so about 75 mph:angel7:) then coast. About 10 seconds later he does a 'ricer flyby' lol.

Races in my (stock) 318 Scamp shall not be mentioned here :D
