Secondary plates
I'm rebuilding a '69 AVS carb from a 383(remember my previous posts? this is the one I got a hold of). I just took all the small parts and the upper half out of the Chem Dip container and cleaned them off, they look great and the air door opens great.
The mechanically connected secondary plates are stuck. I put PB Blaster, Berrymans while tapping the plates and shafts with the back end of a screwdriver, and now the bottom half of the carb is sitting in the Chem Dip overnight. The secondaries wouldn't budge last time I tried before dipping it. I hope the dip will free them up but if not, do you have any other suggestions on getting them free? (the choke door is also stuck in the same fashion even after the chem dip bath...not planning on using that anyway though)
Thank all.
