I have one of those MP 363 short blocks in my car, flat tappet cam (.672 lift though) and W5 heads lightly ported with 2.02/1.60 valves. My Duster weighed about the same as yours and ran 10.70's all day long with this combo. The Scamp weighs 2600 race ready.
