sooo was supposed to buy a 67 fastback cuda today but guess wat. . .the guy of course flaked on me. So happens the minute I call him to come pick it up. . .someone offered him 300 bucks more. .which. I know was not true. .hmmmm bullshit.. I hate people like that.and stay clear of doing business with people like that. .now I gotta find somethin to do with these converion mounts

OK, you already bought conversion mounts for a car you were planning to buy? Seller backed out because of a higher offer?

No doubt, some sellers will flake out, but I don't think we have the whole story here. Did you have a deposit down on the car? a signed and accepted offer?

Still sucks that the deal fell thru.

a deposit would have changed everything . . . . legally :read2:

When I make a deal, it is a done deal. If I tell you the car is yours, it is yours at the agreed price. If someone offers more, I would tell them you have first choice and, if you decide to pass, they get second choice.

Do unto others...

I know one guy here in Jonesboro, Georgia who held a car for me cause I couldnt get there til the following Saturday to look at it. He had a guy who wanted to come get it right then but he told the guy I had first shot because I had called first. Not many like that left and I told him several times how much I appreciated it.

I had that happen to me a couple years ago on four early Cuda's (two 66's & two 65's) I drove down there to look them over, spent several hours there crawling under them, crawled around in the weeds to look over two of them, dug a tun of parts out of his shed and garage to look everything over. I said I would take them and made the deal, went and borrowed the money from the bank and when I got the tow truck to go pick up the two in the weeds, he say's he changed his mind. I was pissed! and I let him know how much. I haven't seen him at a local show since.

its 2bad there r people that due that ,i was brought up
a person is as good as there word. u can take it from there.

No worries little brother, I know you, you'll find a better deal. Good guy alert, this guy, Dustya 383, gave me valves for my 302 heads, for free, with a phone call, he even picked me up. I've known this guy since he used to play with my son and he deserves a good deal. If you want I'll keep my eyes open for you. Don't worry about that guy, what comes around goes around.

OK, going to play devils advocate.

Sometimes you have to look at both sides, too. Every buyer in the world is willing to talk something down, but when the seller decides to take a better offer, he gets criticized and called names.

Seems like too low an amount to be screwing with you, unless he only wanted $500 for the car in the first place. How do you know for sure that someone didnt offer him more unless you were with him the entire time between when you made the deal, and when you went to pick the car up? Did you talk him down on the car, or offer to pay him what he originally wanted? I bet the car will be gone if you go back.

Not saying that what this guy did was right, but if the car was what I wanted, I would have paid the extra $300 and brought it home.

Who knows how long you'll wait until you find another one.

He had no price. A friend of mine was going to buy it first. And offered 1500 but he didn't buy it and went with the 72swinger. .and that was a month ago. . .I offered him the same thing and he said deal. . . . .thing that's gets me is. . .the car is still there. . Still has for sale sign in window. .and he said ill call u right back. . .never called. . So I called him.. . . .ignored all my calls and voicemails if I had .1800 woulda gave it to him no prob. . . If that's wat He wanted for the car. Jus say so. .dnt put make offer then say ok. Then when time comes to buy Say no. That's not right

No not thru craigslist. .seen it on the street with a forsale sign. . And **** mike I gotta wait til next check now

Yes, that is not right.

Do you think he would sell it to your friend for $1500? If so, maybe you can let him buy it for you.
