Anyone using the 440 Source Hydraulic Roller Lifters?

How long does it take for the lifter to pump up? Aren't they filled with air, and the oil needs to displace that air before they are solid? Can this be accomplished by priming the motor before start up? Are the lifters pressurized with oil all the time, or only when on the base circle, or something like that?
All instructions I have ever read states that is not needed to pump up lifters before installation, most do however suggest that you place them in a oil bath only for lubrication purposes....I pre-oil the motor with an 18 vdc Dewalt drill and rotate the engine at the same time with a remote starter trigger...I did this once Saturday and then again Sunday right before stabbing the distributer and starting the engine...starter it three times and the lifter tapping noise was so bad that I only let it run 10 to 15 seconds at a time to prevent any damage...Kim's comment was quote "that they had thought they hade corrected an oil bleed dwon issue"...end quote 8)
