Just barely got back to garage tonight after a short drive.I won't say what brand or who i bought them from, till i talk to them in morning. But this is downright scary.I just had my 2 year old grandson in car last week. And by the way, they are only 1 year old and MAYBE 500 miles on them at most.

Lucky Me!!

Thats the second time I have seen this from CAP. This one is MIG welded as was the first time I seen one broke. Im worried about putting them on my car. I bought a set about three years ago, mine are TIG welded but.....

Id like to know how many other people have had this problem?

This happened at about 2000 RPM,getting up on the converter. If i had got moving, well i might not be writing this...Let alone the money i just tossed out the door.

OMG... sorry to hear about your troubles with the A arms... THis is the sole reason I went with the RMS tubular A Arms for my Dart. I have not driven the car yet but with RMS track record I dont think I will have an issue.

Let us know how they handle this. I'm using a tubular UCL, the same as yours. I thinking about going back to the old UCL's!!!

Had me scared there; was ready to PM to ask if they were FirmFeel. Glad to know everyone is safe.

This is why I tell people not to waste their money on this crap. With your front wheel and tire combo tube control arms were pointless to begin with.

I wish people would stop following the latest magazine fads. I'm glad you are ok.

There is nothing at all wrong with using tube arms as long as the jackass welding them knows how to weld. The guys at cap obviously don't know how to weld.

What do you mean "front wheel and tire combo"? Is there something that I'm missing? just wondering

I'm anxious to see what the company has to say about this. Hopefully they won't blame it on "metal expansion from powder coating" again!!! LMAO

Glad to hear you and your grandson made it home safely John. Scary stuff for sure!

The manufacture (Cap) does not care if you lose your life or your wallet. I know first hand. $2k and threw it all away. Call Bill at RMS to protect your wallet and your life.
I am surprised that Mancini continues to put their business in jeopardy by distributing these prodicts.

wazoo, I was trying to find your own CAP nightmare thread earlier when I posted my reply but I struck out. Can you post a link to it here so DemonJohn and the others can see what you went through and hopefully avoid a repeat?

Glad everything turned out ok for you. You can see very plainly that whomever welded that did not get any penetration. You can get that MIG and TIG if you do not know what you are doing. If I had a set of these they would be getting the welds ground down and a good bead put on them. With the correct settings ad wire size MIG would hold just fine.

got a buddy that builds desert trucks. front ends/steering are pretty much all fab work. these trucks are built for high speed running/jumping in the desert. he has never had a failure yet......so running a set of tubular conrtrol arms on a street car should not be an issue....providing they were welded correctly...
