I replaced the slant 6 this winter with a 273. Unfortunately the headers is the cheap type that hang a bit low. So with the new engine in I had to adjust the torsion bars to get the car up a bit. It is a 70 Duster with 14" ralley wheels. Anyone else had this problem and how do you solve it best to get it to look as good as possible? What size tires do you use etc. Now it just looks weird in the front because the wheels don’t fill the fender at all, but before I raised it looked really good =P~ I have to get new tires around any way. But I'de like to keep the 14" ralley wheels.

Hej trebor
Had the same problem with my duster -70 and 15" wheels, hit the ground now and then.
I bought new headers from Dough instead, they are mutch better (no cheap solution to the problem)

I was so sure that I would remember the tire size so I never wrote it down. I beleive it was 175 75 14 in the front. Buying new headers and having to modify my brand new exhaust system is really not a tempting option right now. I have a hole in my pocket already :)

thats a small tire/ o/e is 195-70 14 maybe. i mean c78-14 thats what my spare is lol. can you heat them and just bend them up sum?

Headman tight tube shortys fit great and no ground clearance issues. They install real easy to.

That is a very nice alternative to the TTI/Doug Headers!

A little smaller tube. Would you pick up some performance if you used a 2 1/2" adapter at the flange to a 3" Pipe then to X Pipe?? Would it be about the same as the TTI/Dougs that goes further under the car? Just wondering.

215/70R14's will look good and help your problem. 25.9" tire height

Shorty Hedmans won't work in an A-body I believe.
