New Cam-give me your opinion/
I ordered the Comp XE262h-10. I haven't installed it or heard it run yet.(the
machine shop still has my crank that needs to be turned) It's .462-.470 lift
with 1.5 rockers (.492-.501 with 1.6) 218-224 @ .050 262-270 advertised.
I was looking at the two Lunati grinds mentioned earlier. I wanted to stay with something around 268 /500 lift, more than stock but not to radical.
I'm putting together a basiclly stock 318 with magnum heads. The bigger
duration numbers tend to give you more of a lopey idle but move the power band up in RPM. The old Crane Fireball cams were that way, lots of duration but not a ton of lift. We used to install them 4 degrees advanced to bring the power band down and they seemed to work good. That was long before degreeing a cam was so important. toolomanmike
