what kind of mopar dist. was it? the biggest thing about them is you can adjust the curve to what you motor likes.its possible that you got one that matched up pretty well with your combo. i would think your leaving a lot out there though with just a parts store dist. timing probably comes in kinda late. would probably see a difference with a set of light springs in it.
