Ross' '71 dart swinger

well, the dart is now officially in my name only, so that means I can push on and have her drivable for this summer!

Things to do:
Repaint the entire car - it looks good but now I know I can do soooooo much better
get the bumpers re-chromed
send the dash gauges to redfish to have them rebuilt
pull out the 360 and repaint it orange
put my rebuilt '76 360 heads on in place of the original 50xxmi J heads
drop the 284 284 480 480 cam in
put the prefomer intake on
put my 700 dp on
put the 360 back in
install either my 3.55sg 8 3/4 with new leafs or my unknown as of yet 8 1/4
put some rubber on my rallys and put the rallys on the car
install the rest of the trim including wheel lip trip
button up the interior -install door panels, install headliner, reinstall gauge cluster, put the carpet back in after a good cleaning.
put some speakers in the back deck (hidden under the package tray) for a little tunes
get an exhaust kit and re-run exhaust with the 340 tips
get a pistol grip shifter
get seat covers for the seats because these are just starting to crack

I think thats about it?

Sounds like you have a plan, I expect to see you drive up this way for a beer sometime in it. Oh and you can bring J.R. if you want to!:-D

So I drove the swinger today up and down the driveway then I took it down the street a bit, dang she pulls hard even with the 2.7 7 1/4 rear. I was going about 10-15mph and punched it and as soon as the secondary's opened she broke the tire free with no problem. I am excited to get the 8 3/4 3.55 sg in there and see what she can do.

I defiantly need to get her aligned though because she pulls hard to the right when I step on her. (she hasn't been aligned yet though after I swapped in the spool mount and new suspension)

I cannot wait until I have her road worthy, dang this will be a fun little car!

I took some pictures of the Rocker / Valve covers that Ross is going to put on the Swinger. I think they turned out pretty nice! I guess all that money I put towards his car education is paying off.

When will it ever end? lol I pulled the 360 out on Friday in preparation of painting it the proper color orange along with replacing the heads, cam ect... Since the engine is out I plumed in an adjuster for the rear brakes as well as a line lock. I don't really need the line lock but it was on one of my parts cars so I said what the heck sure I will plumb it in.

I spent way too much $ today as I ordered the summit 2.5 in a body exhaust, an H pipe, and a set of SS 2800# springs. after shipping it was almost 500, dang, o well had to happen.

So now I am waiting on a camshaft and then I will drop the 360 back in the hole and re button the car up.

I know another crappy cell phone pic, but I forgot my camera yet again.

Do me a favor and measure the springs center of the rear eye to center of the front eye. I'm looking for around 51" if they work I will take the stock springs that are in the car off your hands. I'm looking for extra springs for the truck seeing as there are only 2 leafs in each side.

Looks great Ross. The cam will be on its way Tuesday. I hope that I can find the lifters before then. I will also get you the info on the chain.

getting he dash all back together Ill grab the better camera in a bit, all the rebuilt gauges with redfish's demon IVR are now in and looking good as well as the 150 spedo I got from 12valve.

ok here are a few pics of the demon IVR and the entire dash, it's good to get something done.

Today I also installed a firm feel stage 2 PS box and fast ratio pit man and idler. I also touched up the bay a bit since it wasn't as pretty as I was hoping for.
