Tis the question...........sharktooth grille....restore or not to restore????????????

I gotta guess that your grill is painted from the factory. I have one that looked like they had some sort of comb like mask to spray the black fins. In any case it looks to be in pretty good condition.

For the gray/silver paint, I used Rustoleum's plastic paint in the "textured nickel" color. It looks great, kind of metallic like the original, and the texture can hide small imperfections. Get yourself a can and try it on a scrap piece, I think you'll like it.
