Hotchkis Mopar Adventures - June

We've been super busy over at the Hotchkis headquarters. In the last month we've seen Hotchkis-equipped Mopars autocrossing, Power Touring, at car shows and in magazines. To save you the trouble of google searching every adventure, here's a quick post with some of the highlights of June.

1. Power Tour and Power Chords

We've been lucky enough to spend some time with contemporary Blues guitarist, Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Besides being an outstanding musician, Kenny Wayne is also a huge Mopar fan, and he knows the song of a Chrysler V8 engine.

Kenny took his Hotchkis equipped Plymouth Duster on the [ame="http://vimeo.com/12682130"]Hot Rod Power Tour[/ame] just days after installing a Hotchkis A-body system. He was able to cruise in comfort, and even spend some time thinking about new tracks to record for the upcoming album. You can't do that unless you've got a well-handling ride!

As soon as he was back in Los Angeles, Kenny met up with another Hotchkis friend, Adam Carolla. You can check out the Car Cast episode and photos on Adam's site.

2. E-Max storms Michigan

Kenny's duster wasn't the only Hotchkis car to hit the highway in June. The Hotchkis E-Max has got to be the hardest working e-body in the country. Just weeks after returning from Edmunds (where it was throughly tested) the E-Max was enroute to the Motor State Challenge in Michigan , a three day event that included a car cruise, autocross and road course competition.

Despite being outgunned by extremely high-dollar cars with nearly double the horsepower, we decided to represent the undersubscribed Mopar community and bring E-Max to the competition. When the smoke (and Midwestern rain) cleared, E-Max was the fastest car in the autocross vendor challenge and the fourth quickest on the 1.88 mile Gingerman Raceway road course - out of 70 cars!

After a long haul to Michigan we were ecstatic that our heavy Mopar with bolt-on suspension parts including performance leaf springs, torsion bars and a mild 340 small block not only held its own but actually dominated, besting most of the 600+ horsepower highly modified muscle cars.

As we continue to refine E-Max through competitions like the Motor State Challenge, we apply what we learn to every Hotchkis Sport Suspension component. We can't wait for next year's Challenge!

3. Magazine Mania

For those of you who like to do your reading on paper, check out the newest issues of Mopar Enthusiast and Hemmings Muscle Machines. ME has some great never before seen photos and stories from the Vegas autocross and Hemmings has a step by step install of a Hotchkis E-body TVS.

We're getting ready for Columbus Good Guys now so we'll have new stories for July. We've also got a couple of A-body installation videos and articles coming out, so stay tuned!
