........... Hawaiian Quilting..........God, there is sooooo much good material there :angry7: I will be nice for once just because you brought Mike over yesterday so he could spend his money.

Aloha Ross, is there something we don't know about you? Like maybe another pastime other then mopars.

Cool Ross, glad to see that fresh engine in there!I,d be careful with your plug wires being so close to your headers.I,d tie them up out of the way,for piece of mind.See you in chat.

Just found this thread had to read through it, Great job Ross keep up the great work man it looking good.

Why are you posting pictures on FABO at 3:30 AM?!!! holy crap dude! The motor looks great in there though...:)

lol we went to a birthday bbq then came back a little happy.... looked at the car and said hey it needs things like a radiator... I called it quits at 2:30. The plan is to drive it to the moparbq on sat. You should come.

Thanks.
Yha Scott the headers don't have the gasket on them yet so the wires are just there for the pic, it should be running today though.

well the steering is all hooked up as is the clutch linkage and the shifter is in, the fan is on and the PS pump is in and hooked up, I found that a drive shaft from a '74 dart sport 318 will work nicely length wise and is very big around so it shouldn't have any problems with standing the 360. more later

Crap! I made plans to go to the Harnish show in Puyallup! Where is the BBQ? My carb is torn apart because there's crap in it making my car not want to idle. Not sure I will have time to get it together but I can always drive something else.

It's in Renton right off of exit 6. Give me a call if you can make it and Ill give yha better directions.

well time to cheack a few things off the list- All the red is stuff I have now finished.
Things to do:
Repaint the entire car - it looks good but now I know I can do soooooo much better
get the bumpers re-chromed
send the dash gauges to redfish to have them rebuilt
pull out the 360 and repaint it orange
put my rebuilt '76 360 heads on in place of the original 50xxmi J heads
drop the 284 284 480 480 cam in
put the prefomer intake on
put my 700 dp on
put the 360 back in
install either my 3.55sg 8 3/4 with new leafs or my unknown as of yet 8 1/4

put some rubber on my rallys and put the rallys on the car
install the rest of the trim
button up the interior -install door panels, install headliner, reinstall gauge cluster, put the carpet back in after a good cleaning.
put some speakers in the back deck (hidden under the package tray) for a little tunes
get an exhaust kit and re-run exhaust with the 340 tips
get a pistol grip shifter
get seat covers for the seats because these are just starting to crack

We had good attendance at Tom and Tam's BBQ. Ross and Mike busted their chops getting the engine in the Dart and everything hooked up in time to drive up to the BBQ, even though Ross was running open headers (loud boy...). We even had Butch drop by with his Packard after most had left. He had driven by the house many times before and seen Tom's cars in progress, but this time was the first he had stopped to say howdy.

Well got the steering column all built, so now I can hook up my lights and have stop and turn. Yes thats an NOS turn signal arm. (It's a '68 floor shift column to go along with my key in the dash and 4spd)

Tomorrow I am hanging the exhaust!!!

Driving with open headers is fun but LOUD!!!!!!

Looking good Ross, wish I was to the point of being able to drive the dart around some.
Sorry I missed the BBQ looks like there was a good showing of MOPAR muscle there.

Hey Ross, great thread, i just read through it. Your car has come a long way, looking good. HMMM, there seems to be a Sublime Bee missing from those pictures, serves me right for being late to the party.

LOL thanks Ross, i had something shift in my front end on the way home sunday, suddenly there is a lot of play in my steering wheel.

Gotta crawl under there and see what i can find, strange, i didnt hit big holes or anything.

Been busy on the swinger!! I gave it a rough aliment, fixed the shifter, drove it a bit and in the past two days I got the exhaust installed right. What a pain in the *** that was, not having a lift I was on my back for a day and a half test fitting, cutting, welding, refitting, cutting more ect.... I used the summit 2.5in A body system. It isn't designed for a 4spd car or an H pipe, so it all sits a little lower then optimal but I think it should be alright.
I had to adjust for the 4spd linkage so it isn't routed as intended and with the H pipe it was a bit of a pita.
I would however say if you have an auto car it should fit nicely and no H pipe.
Actually my friend has it on his auto duster and it does fit as intended, higher up against the body.

Full wright up here

Anyway now I get to go pull the dash and figure out why the rebuilt gauges aren't working.

I HATE LEAKS!!!! The used 360 car pan I bought had it's drain plug over tightened at one point and striped when I tightened the drain plug. To get the car running and back to my house a universal rubber plug was installed and it leaked like a sieve, so today I picked up an M14 x 1.25 and a corresponding tap, I then drilled and taped the plug hole, now the plug is nice and snug and doesn't leak!!!! The best part is an M14 plug will take a 9/16 socket. (And it doesn't leak!!!!)

btw here is a link to hear her [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UJFnp4P8tQ"]YouTube- 1971 Dart Swinger new exhaust[/ame]

Very cool nice sound, shouldn't be to deafening on the way to work or anything sound really really good thanks for sharing.

Been busy on the swinger recently, I have the headliner in and despite it not being perfect it's good enough! The wrinkles are a little less then they were but like I said it aint perfect but I am at the point of not caring!

I also have the door panels on (yes I know I don't have the arm rest on in the pic...and have been busy getting the inside looking more like a car. I did discover a leak today so before I go any farther it looks like I get to do a little more sealing.

I also got all the seat belts dyed black and the buckles blasted and painted black.

O and is it cheating to put a 340 sticker on the air cleaner? LOL
