What cam to use in a 318

No arguements there junkyard. Other things to consider are where are those heads produced and developed. I realise many companies are doing the design work in the US but having the castings done in China due to costs, and then doing machining in the US. Some saving but even CNC machining local...

    Thermostat Gasket

Thanks for the replies. I am thinking I am going to just run it as is. Engine run temps are good and I have seen some people even drill a small hole in the thermostat for other reasons without adverse effects

    Alignment Help

I have a Joe's Racing caster/camber gauge. The avatar has Weld ProStar wheels. All I have to do is remove the center caps then the dust caps and the gauge magnetically attaches to the hub without issue. For turning plates, this hack uses heavy, thick garbage bags folded over multiple times...

[FOR SALE] 67-69 Coupe/Convertible Barracuda Trunk Mat

I picked this trunk mat up a few years ago at a swap meet and now that I am ready to install it in my 68 fastback I found out it is for the coupe or convertible. It is the heavy rubber one, it has a few small marks on it that you can see in my pictures. $100.00 shipped in the USA look at the...

    Thermostat Gasket

Maybe my thermostat housing has a cavity for the thermostat that is is larger than it needs to be… thought it was an aftermarket one that was true to the original specs/sizes.

    Headers

One gotcha on buying pre-coated headers is you might end up needing to ding them here and there. And by ding I mean you might need to beat the living crap out of them to get them to fit. I needed to make power steering and torsion bar clearance on the Doug's that going are in my 71. If you're...

    Where and What Size Hole?

I Absolutely agree with Demonracer leave the original hood untouched. You can also order a fiberglass hood with the scoop already installed and save yourself a lot of labor. They will put it in the correct spot if you are going to use a stock transmission mount location.

Hemi Swapping a perfectly good 70 Duster

Too funny. I am still weight limited so I had to call in a friend to help me pull my A833OD so I could figure out why it is getting stuck in 4th. No idea where I would be without friends.

    Another 318 set up

this thread really went off the rails, it's kind of a shame.... anyway, my personal preference for a 90% street driver, I don't like high RPM's on the highway, I've been soothed too much since I started driving in '91 from my duster with it's 3.23's and factory A833OD, 5th ave's with 2.24...

    Holley Double Pumper Question(s)

Good guess but not correct. -7 is the revision C is the dichromate finish The number underneath is the date code. For example, from the 2018 catalog. So either the current revision changed meter blocks etc, or the photo is wrong because the marketing staff is clueless. My bet is the latter...
