I've got a similar low pedal problem on a 66 Dart. Right stuff disc conversion/ adjustable prop/ 15/16 master/ arms/spindles/etc. Manual brakes. 11x2 1/2" drums on the rear. Pushrod lengths were identical comparing the old single master to the new dual master. Bench bled master/ then vacuum...
That is nice of you to suggest that. When I started the thread, I had a different title for it, one that was vague. I changed it to pertain specifically to this issue so it will be easy to find with the search feature.
I don't know if this issue exists when changing to the 1972 and earlier...
Front's will work fine, a 245/40/18 should work well and shouldn't require any body modifications. A 255/40/18 will fit the rim, but that's a 26" tall tire so it will probably be VERY close to the lower corner of the front fender on a '71. One of those situations that will come down to ride...
I suggest that this thread is made a sticky.
I have a set of Kelsey Hayes discs that I intend to put in place of my front drum brakes. This is good information that I didn’t know..
They could have made the disc unit's steering arm bends the same offset as the drum setups had.
They are obviously different but who knows why.....
I just wondered about this a few times over the years but never had an understanding as to what specifically caused it.
Now I do.
My curious...

I wonder if the wider track of the disks adds to this???
That style was 72 and up. All year center caps will work with the rallye type wheel.
1972, 1973, 1974 DODGE, PLYMOUTH, MOPAR RALLY WHEEL CENTER CAPS, SET OF 4, CHARGER, CUDA, ETC ITEM # 244-72 - Scotty's Hub Caps
You cannot use conical lug nuts on those wheels, as previously mentioned. The reason is, a conical lug nut must have a conical seat the same angle in order to lock down properly when torqued. Those wheels have a totally flat seat, made to fit a flat washer like what is used on the correct...
You know that the VIN isn't on the fender tag on '68s?
To match the tag you'll need your shipping order number. This can be found on the radiator support or in the weatherstrip area of the trunk.
Nice car!
I agree 100%. But by the same token, I can put a complete aluminum top end on a 383 as well. So where are we then? Sure, you can say you can run aluminum parts on a small block and be lighter and you're right.....but what does that do to the OLD and WRONG opinion that a big block in an A body...
