Shocks: looking for Blistein quality at KYB price.

Interesting. I had no idea that P-S-T had them. Now I've got to get myself ginned up to spend the extra moolah! Argh. I wonder why Bilstein themselves do not list any shocks compatible with pre-'77 A-bodies on their web site. I'll have to get the KYBs packaged up to go back to Amazon...

    Ported Eagle head flow numbers?

I just purchased a 5.7 Eagle with ported heads. I can't many ported flow numbers. I've seen the Franenstein stage 1 numbers but they use a 4.0" pipe and most use a 4.060" pipe so it's not apples to apples.

Shocks: looking for Blistein quality at KYB price.

Once you understand the way that KYB Gas-A-Just shocks are constructed, you understand why they are inferior. Most non adjustable shock absorbers are either linear or progressive in their operation. This means that during operation, they have either equal rates of dampening from extension to...

    Hot Rod Power Tour 2024

I was all packed up, car ready yesterday, felt a little off / malaise during the day yesterday, didn't think too much of it. I went to bed and about an hour later I woke up was up most of the night with a pretty nasty stomach virus. Don't feel too well right now either and can barely eat...

Got to craving a chorizo and egg burrito for breakfast. I could feel the mist in the air outside in the 53° "won't be many Derelicts out this morning". There were a few, even a Mopar today  nice looking Challenger . That Mad Max Road Warrior 52-3 Cheby coupe was there. I swear...

Will the 1 7/8" and 2" TTI headers fit eagle 5.7 heads?

I think your correct, the more I look at headers the more companys I see using the round port. I've also seen some porters using the round gasket to open up the exhaust and change the design of the port for more flow. I know this little eagle motor won't need a 2" header but when I build a...

    '69 Valiant 2DR Project

I'm sitting at work thinking about the car and I got to wondering. If I put compressed air in the spark plug hole, might I be able to hear where the air is leaving the chamber? Maybe this will help narrow down if it's one of the valves (hopefully) or the rings (please no).

    CLOCK?

Good info above. The clocks are usually jeweled. As long as they're not exposed to the elements, often they an be brought back. Use a toothpick and a tiny drop of neatsfoot oil. https://fiebing.com/product/pure-neatsfoot-oil/ The trick is the relay. They are often not fused from the...

I assume you are using the vacuum switch to get throttle controlled kick down. It may be that the vacuum switch is the culprit in the OD chatter. Try bypassing it and see how it acts. I scraped the vacuum switch on my setup because I found it really wasn’t necessary. If I need that much...

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

Thanks. I only need 1/4” spacers. I really like the look of a bit wider tires. I only went slightly wider, so I would avoid stressing the studs. Just can’t seem to find much info on spacers. I’ve found some universal ones that I may give a try! I pick the car up soon, so I’ll check clearance to...

[WANTED] 360 magnum, need intermediate shaft

Thanks, it's a new build, the brass bushing is new. After cleaning it up, the intermediate shaft is in excellent condition. I feel bad, some people actually go to the yard for the sole purpose of stealing tools to make some money....it's sad. When I was a kid, the junkyard was a much more...

    CLOCK?

No, it's 12 volt. It's not a continuous current draw. It has a coil inside that acts like a solenoid. It snaps open a set of spring loaded points that make the gears turn. Once the points close again, it gets another blast of 12V to open the points again. In between when the points are open...
