Mopars in the Park 2024 at Stillwater Minnesota

My car was totally driveable 3-4 weeks ago but then the oil dipstick broke and left about 4 inches of it in the pan. So I made the decision to pull the entire drivetrain and front suspension together for "easier access" in order to do a list of other things that I've been wanting to do such as...

Finally getting on a job that I had on my winter list. And didn’t get to

It's real easy to let business stuff pile up when you're really busy, and then our own cars are the first to suffer. I've had the same situation here for the past few years. Thankfully I recently got a break and then my oil dipstick broke off in the pan which forced me to go all-in on several...

Thinking of switching from M1 single plane to LD340 but LD340 would need to be milled to fit. Is it worth it?

I know a few things from tons of research during my build. The problem is that my memory is real dumb! I'm trying to do better at keeping good records of things for future reference.

For Retired Hippies Only. What are you listening to?

Here's my 7 piece band, The City Knights, covering a bunch of mostly old 70's tunes. Live board mix of 2 full sets of music with a trippy mushroom and space-themed video. We're not perfect but we have lots of fun! It starts off with the space intro from Steve Miller's Fly Like An Eagle. I'm the...

Doug's headers not fitting - frustration

To do that, you'd probably need to hog out the mount hole on the passenger side a bit to sldie it over and up and then use some shims under the driver side mount.

Thinking of switching from M1 single plane to LD340 but LD340 would need to be milled to fit. Is it worth it?

I appreciate the input, guys. I decided to get a good night's sleep and look at it again this morning as well as provide some more info. I set the M1 back on it to compare and that was also a challenge to get the bolts started again on both sides. Turns out it was user error. (surprise...

Line lock help, it's making me crazy!

I guess it gives you a lot more control to ease out of the burnout, or for having fun with burnouts. LOL Thinking of switching mine around like that.

Thinking of switching from M1 single plane to LD340 but LD340 would need to be milled to fit. Is it worth it?

Not really but I was thinking as long as I have it available to use... until I ran into the fitment issue. I'll probably end up just keeping the M1 setup because it fits.

Line lock help, it's making me crazy!

Did you install the line lock or is that how you got it? Is it possible the line lock is plumbed to the rear brake line as some do? Then you hold the button which prevents the rear brakes from getting pressure and you hold the front brakes with the brake pedal. Some guys prefer that setup. Just...

Thinking of switching from M1 single plane to LD340 but LD340 would need to be milled to fit. Is it worth it?

oops, yes, 2.02. My bad! Corrected. I'd rather just keep the current M1 setup that to pull and shave the heads at this point.

Thinking of switching from M1 single plane to LD340 but LD340 would need to be milled to fit. Is it worth it?

Hi Guys, So I'm doing a bunch of maintenance stuff on my car and have the drivetrain with front suspension out right now. My car came with an M1 intake on it and that's what I've been running for a few years (street driven) just because it was easiest affordable option at the time of my build...

I already ordered direct from A&A. Maybe I could cancel it, not sure, if you send me a PM with info.

Having 2-3 shift overlap - Thinking of switching from 4.2 apply lever to 3.8 - Any Other Thoughts?

Thanks for taking your time to help explain how and why some of these work together. I pulled the accumulator to verify and there are no springs and has the blocker rod. I'm not 100% positive, but I think I remember adding the additional springs to the front clutch pack for 15 total. I'd rather...

Having 2-3 shift overlap - Thinking of switching from 4.2 apply lever to 3.8 - Any Other Thoughts?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that before. No spring , I believe if memory serves me correct. I'm heading out this afternoon, my band has a show tonight, but will continue to follow-up as quick as possible. Thanks again.

Having 2-3 shift overlap - Thinking of switching from 4.2 apply lever to 3.8 - Any Other Thoughts?

Is there a center spring that I could order or pick up to add to my current billet servo? I hate to buy a whole new kit if I could avoid it. Maybe someone has an extra? Maybe I'll talk to the locan transmission guy. Just asking. I want to get it back together asap. Thanks again, guys. -Doug

Having 2-3 shift overlap - Thinking of switching from 4.2 apply lever to 3.8 - Any Other Thoughts?

No low band apply. It's been a long time since it was built so my memory is vague. I don't know the clearance #s but I believe it has 5 red clutches. These days, I take much more detailed photos and notes of everything I do to the car. I should have done better on tranny build day. Haven't...

Having 2-3 shift overlap - Thinking of switching from 4.2 apply lever to 3.8 - Any Other Thoughts?

Cool, Thanks again for all your info. I'll switch to the 3.8 and replace the screen filter with a dacron. It'll probably be at least 2-3 weeks before I have everything back together. I'm hoping to drive it to Mopars In The Park, Minnesota. I have my work cut out!

Having 2-3 shift overlap - Thinking of switching from 4.2 apply lever to 3.8 - Any Other Thoughts?

I appreciate the advice. Do you think switching to a 3.8 lever would help with the overlap at all, especially if my front clutch has 12 springs rather than 15?

Having 2-3 shift overlap - Thinking of switching from 4.2 apply lever to 3.8 - Any Other Thoughts?

I pulled the servo and it has just one big spring as shown. The second photo shows the only other spare springs I have on hand. Either one of them fits inside the main large spring. Should I consider adding one of these to it? Also, I checked the kickdown band adjustment which was set at 1.5...

Having 2-3 shift overlap - Thinking of switching from 4.2 apply lever to 3.8 - Any Other Thoughts?

Thanks. I’m running type F but would have to open it up further to verify the other things unless I can find some old photos. I planned to put the same fluid back in that I drained out. Not sure if switching fluids would be safe at this point? Actually, the 2-3 overlap is the worst if I'm...
