i've had two 79 LRE trucks over the years. both very original/ no air pumps.. they did have some kind of air pipe to the rear of the passenger exhaust manifold.. i forget where it hooked up to though... as far as the cats go.. they are over 40 years old. probably shot any way..

****, the experts still argue about what cam was in the EH1 lil red express motors. some say it was just a standard production 360 cam and others say it was a 340 cam. someone needs to find an unmolested LRE ,pull the cam and stick the damn thing on a cam doctor and put the debate to rest.

friend of mine used his road runner drum brakes on his scamp. need the spindle and drum assemble and the large ball joint upers if i remember correctly..

been sitting a while. never used. looks to me that they would clean up and be perfectly useable.

can you post pictures of the pulley and belt set up?

dougs or tti headers are the answer. both fit much better and don't hang low like the cheap junk you had.

i had a friend witha 74ish 360 cuda. had a factory all stock 360 4 speed. man did that thing run.. it was pretty damn fast.

its orange. going to put one more coat on it.

engine is in primer. ended up finding a performer rpm on marketplace for 100 bucks. cleaned it up and using that so I don't have to make the car non-running just yet. :)

not sure what would be "correct" but to me the dash pad and steering wheel would look much better blue. they look kinda out of place black in my opinion.

when switching to large bolt pattern axles in a stock abody housing and using moser axles i never hat to touch the button. not sure since your housing has been narrowed. may be best to call moser.

is there a heater blower motor switch in th ecar?

pull the rocker shafts off and see what the oil does. watch out though. oil may shoot out. lol

maybe you passed the spot too quickly?

when we did my fresh 360 we used the prime tool and a 1/4" ratchet. spun the oil pump by hand and achieved 60 psi of oil pressure. while my buddy was spinning the pump i slowly spun the crank until we got oil to both heads. super easy and took only a couple minutes.

my old dart with the 292/508 purple cam..

my guess from the mp purple cams is : 284/484 or or the 292/508 sounds too lumpy for a 280/474.

it has nothing to do with going "stock". there is a correct way to run pulleys and belts for proper results and reliability..
