    360 vs 383

An old stock 360 in an a body is a great street car and a cheap easy Saturday swap. I big block swapped my last dart and while not difficult it was more expensive and more work. I would not do that much work to make a minor gain to a 383. I wonder how many of the people who answered the poll...

    360 vs 383

Im not sure I understand. There is no modern 6.2 version of the 383. The magnum 383 still was discontinued around 1971.

    Magnum swap plan

There is a boss on the passenger side if the block that will need to be cut down to fit many a body headers.

    360 vs 383

    1. Can I cheat and say magnum 360? In an a body specifically I dont see the 383 being worth the difference in cost and size. 2. Same. 360 magnum. 3. Same 360 magnum. Every 383 block will need machine work. That's money I won't spend on a 5.9 block that will let me buy better heads. 4.383...

    very mild 360 build.

sorry no. it has been too long. If I recall correctly it had less duration than the 340 reproduction cams we used in the late 80's early 90's.

    Headers won’t fit in 67 440 dart

I've never used the conversion mounts but I've seen a bunch and their installation seems a little different every time. Dont forget these cars were not exactly precision built pieces. You may quite likely have to bust out the die grinder and modify your mounts or k member. FWIW I copied the...

    Its official. Im too old.

A7X was phenomenal. One of the very few bands better live. More importantly my kid had the time of his life. Never sat down once they took the stage. Screaming and singing along. Completely opposite of his very stoic self. You would have to know him to understand. I better get a damn nice dad...

Thanks. It's his first concert. He is all smiles. He even drove us here in his little jeep. First time driving in Pittsburgh or anywhere other than the backwoods of Clarion County.

These openers suck more than Chelsea Handler in an NBA locker room. And to think Dee Snyder testified to Congress so we could have this ****. Yep break out the geritol. I'm too frigging old.

    Viny/rubber mat for dart

Does anyone offer a vinyl or rubber mat for a 70 two door dart? I dont really want carpet as this is a beater/driver. I parted a wrecked 4dr valiant once that had a rubber mat and I've had multiple d trucks with a mat.

My kid wanted me to take him the the Avenged Sevenfold show for his 18th birthday. So here we are. I love A7X but we just sat through the opener Sullivan King. Well,he was loud. Really went to eleven. He reminds me of what my friends and I used to say about some guys trying to fit in with...

    Advice needed on manifold repair

I would not spend a dime to fix that. But If I were bored I might try fixing it myself. When I worked in an exhaust shop we welded exhaust manifolds. I would v the cracks way out. Heat the entire manifold as hot as I could get it. Heat the areas to be welded red with a torch and then weld up...

    very mild 360 build.

i had a 360 the previous owner had built to mimic the little red express engine. same cam, wind age tray etc. it ran well enough in my 74 dart to win a bunch of street races but was mild enough my wife delivered pizza with it. That may be the sort of build you are looking for.

Making power out of the 318

Free horsepower is the best horsepower. A good tune up goes a long way. Advancing base timing, making sure you are getting W.O.T. Making gaskets out of cereal boxes.etc These are all the steps that lead to real gains and build skills. In the free performance category, when I got a free super...

Making power out of the 318

Anytime a kid asks what they should build people start spouting off suggestimg all sorts of machine work. It's like they dont remember being a teenager trying to build a car,pay car insurance, buy condoms(awfully optimistic) and take chicks out on a 25 hour a week paycheck at minimum wage. The...

Making power out of the 318

That is exactly the comparison I always think of any time a 318 build is mentioned. While I'm now old and beat the cubic inches have the best bang for the buck drum,When I was a street racing teenager in the 90's the 5.0 mustang was the car to beat. A 3000lb rear drive box with a 302 roller...

Smfh. I want the ten minutes of my life spent reading this thread back. No wonder teenagers give up and put fart pipes on hondas instead of building musclecars. Some of you guys just suck the fun right out of it.

school me on a 5.9 magnum motor.

Here is a picture of a magnum head and la manifold out of my scrap pile. You can see the mismatch that would cause an exhaust leak. If I were going to put thos together I would weld up the opening in the manifold kind of squaring it off to match the head.

ive used a couple magnum 5.9s. An LA 360 car pan works. I used an LA timing set. I did use the magnum accessories to get the serp belt set up and higher amperage alternator.I used la headers on magnum heads and magnum headers on la heads. no leaks.

No. But I have read many accounts of plumbing doing immense good for human health. These guys don't get enough credit for what they do. When it comes to skilled trades the plumbers and mechanics are always maligned.
