    Nv3500 vs ax15

    Here’s the rpm/mph difference between the 3.23’s and 2.76’s in 5th gear. I typically use 5th any I’m going 55+

Wow. What must the final drive ratio be in fifth? 1.8 to 1? Usefully at all under 85 mph?

    Overheating on run stand

Thanks Casey, I'd have to chk my build notes for compression, but pretty close to 10.5-1. I figured my compression played a part in it. Head gaskets are correct. My cheap *** should've bought a box fan. I'm pretty confident the major contributor as Rusty and others mentioned was too little...

    I'd try 22- 24. I doubt 25 would be to much.

    Restart the rebuild

Put that electric floor fan in front of/pointing at the rad...not much air going though the rad at that location. Also, I don't hear much lifter chatter...could your rockers be a bit tight?...that can cause overheating a swell. Just my thoughts, bud...

    Overheating on run stand

Wrong head gaskets blocking water flow???? By the way what compression ratio are you running? 10.5:1? More compression, more heat and hotter fire. Aged stock flowing radiator may not be up to task? ☆☆☆☆☆

    408 ignition curver advice

No, I'm suggesting the engine might want 34-36 "somewhere else" besides 6500. Since it didn't make a difference at 6500, it "might" make a difference elsewhere. I mean dang. It might not. But dammit man, it's free to try. lol

    Nv3500 vs ax15

Higher gears are definitely required with the ax15. I was running 3.23’s in my Duster and still only using 1st gear if I was taking off on a hill. I’ve since installed 2.76’s and now use 1st through 5th gears as intended.

If You've ever pulled the head off of an AMC 6 including an HO 4.0L, the crosshatch is gone adjacent to the 1/2" head bolts, like a 5/8"-3/4" swath. Like He said, some get it all the time because they're prone. This is when folks don't get why a BRM 'dingleberry' hone works better needs pointing...

    408 ignition curver advice

...timing really is a reflection of and determined at high rpm performance. If the engine doesnt perform any better at 34 than 32 why use 34. Unless you are suggesting the engine might want 34-36* at 4000 but 32* at 6500…. Which would be possible with my digital ignition . That would be...

    Nv3500 vs ax15

Here's what it took to fit the AX15 in my Barracuda: Rebuilding the Transmission Tunnel It shifted smooth with synthetic oil in it. I also shortened up the shifter. I was running a 5.2L Magnum. Only thing I didn't like was the gear spacing. I have 3.73s in the rear. First gear was pretty much a...
