Question: What is the Best timing chain setup LA or Magnum

I've also had good luck out of the Edelbrock timing sets. I've had one in the 360 in my Challenger forever, and when I put a new fuel pump on it a year or so ago, the chain is still tight.

    D100 rearend in A body

Got side tracked and didn't answer your question...lol. I think an A100 rearend is closer to fitting than a D100. Check the link below for axle widths. An accurate 8 3/4" rear axle width list

    MET THIS LADY.......CHECK IT OUT

Wow....what a treat! She's good. Are you still in the Myrtle Beach area? I'm here at our place up on the Northern end for a few more days. I've got a whole gaggle of :canada: geese here that you can take home with you! lol.

    Power bench seat

Do you have any large barge C bodies in the back 40? A lot of them came with power seats that you could rob the tracks and electrical stuff from. Might be a good idea to wire it up on a relay when you do it.

    D100 rearend in A body

I've got a 70ish D100 8 3/4 that I am going to swap into my 88 D100. I got a pair of 8 3/4 axles with the 5 x 5.5 bolt pattern from a member here so that I don't have to swap the wheels that are already on my truck. I think the 74 Power Wagons were the ones that had the 5.5" bolt pattern. The...

    BBP conversion

Find big ball joint upper control arms from a 73-76 A body and put new ball joints and bushings that match THOSE year control arms, not your car year model. Then find spindles with drum brakes from a 70-71 B or E body and rebuild them with new brake stuff and new lower ball joints that would go...

Short Shaft Slip Yoke 727's in Old Airport Tugs?

I think that A100 vans and trucks also had short shaft transmissions in them. They had a lug on top of the tailshaft housing that the transmission mount bolted to. Edit- I just went and looked thru @Jim Kueneman thread on his A100 truck, and the pic of his transmission shows it to be a ball &...

    Small Upper ball joint adaptors

I look at the adapters like this.....if they were the least bit sketchy, Dr. Diff wouldn't sell them. If I ever need to, I'll use them without a second thought.

    Magnum and Wiring Swap

Thanks for the tip about the lights! My plan is, to just use the Magnum under hood wiring harness for engine management only and leave the rest of the lighting and stuff as is. My D100 is just an old beat around truck that I want to be more dependable and easy for my wife to use if needed. I...

He was a smart little guy with a feather touch

My wife says I'm cruel....lol. They're rats!! I made this rat rig. Small bucket, put 4 or 5 " of water in the bottom. There is a wire tied across the top, with an old sewing thread spool in the middle that rolls on the wire. Long paint paddle for a gangplank up to the edge of the bucket...

    Magnum and Wiring Swap

You may or may not have seen this sync video, but thought I'd drop it in here for you so you don't have to hunt it. Hope it helps. Good job on the harness! I'm going to put a low mile 1998 5.9 Magnum into my 88 D100, so I gotta figure all that out too. I have the complete wiring, computer and...

    Nope of the day

If I were that driver, I believe I would find out who the MFG's were that made both the king pin and the hitch plate/latch. Then I'd go and shake everybody in the building's hand and thank them for doing a good job!

    Motor assembly equipment Recommendations

I bought one of these when they had them on sale last year. I also bought a fine grit fish hook sharpener to dress the ends of the rings after filing the gap. My buddy that did my machine work on my 273 let me borrow his ring filer that is exactly like the one I later bought, to do my rings on...

Headliner or Glass... Which should go First?

I agree with all....headliner first. Be prepared to prick your fingers on the little teeth that hold the headliner. I always find a few band aids before I start a headliner...and just take them into the car with me....lol.

Rotor for my SSBC A1531 conversion

I sold one of those kits a while back, and the rotors had a dual pattern. Worked for both 5 on 4 and 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. I am pretty sure they are some sort of Ford rotor, because some early Mustangs had basically the same brakes as 66-72 A bodies, but with 4.5 bolt pattern.

    Hood clearance Question

The air gap intake, be it an Edelbrock or the Chinkanese version, will have the exhaust cross over in the center blocked. That will cut down on the heat under the carb and the open area underneath can only help. At most, I would use the 3/8 insulator type gasket as suggested by @TrailBeast ...
