Soo.. curious bout something.. i'm running a Gates 7740 XL belt on my car which is 47" long .41" wide.. which seems to be the normal size but my belt rides high in the pulleys which gives that cool squeal when starting.. were there thinner belts?

    Non A-body mopar question

Because it was fine behind a 318, most people that bought a 318 car were using them as family trucksters.. if i was just making a car to drive and not beat on i would change the oil in it and use it. it probably made it 100k already without breaking..

yeah.. i was tired or stoned and visualized **** backwards.... so just to verify... trans/motor has a -2.5* angle (down) so the rear under load should be +2 so i'm going to set it at 0 to -1... which should make a huge difference.. it had a nasty vibration when it would get like 50mph wheel speed
  25. Icetech

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Oh.. btw... Pinion angle was only bout 8 degrees off.... with a rear u-joint working angle of 12* which is insane... i mathed bad
  26. Icetech

Stop in for a cup of coffee

K... old spring perches out.. new ones in, not welded yet though.. cutting out the moroso ones SUCKS way more than the stock ones.. but got it done and wore goggles and a mask.. so hopefully wont be coughing up **** for days, will set everything up and weld them this weekend. Rear end was 1/4"...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

yup.. on mine the outer ring is cast and the inner plate that rides on the axle flange is steel and they are welded together and the plate is at least .300 thou off center which would be fine if the shoe surface was cut round.. but nope. kinda mad bout that. but nothing i can do..
  28. Icetech

Stop in for a cup of coffee

What went bad this time? I don't think i have bought anything bad from them.... one of my new raybestos rear drums is bout .200 off center though... which is a pisser.. not from rock though
