    Chevy ran the roller bearing up to 1964. Ford used them up till the quit installing the 9 inch diff in trucks sometimes in the 1980s. The axles all just butted up to the pin in the center that hold the spiders in place. So they minimal side clearance/axle play. Kim

    What was done to the accumulator? Spring top or bottom or no spring at all? U possibly could get a restrictor plug for high gear like what Trans Go has in their kits. Tranny shop should have a spare as the 904 usually doesn’t need it. Kim

    Well then u shouldn’t have bind up. In order for that to happen the front band comes on b4 the rear band fully releases. I would put 2 springs into the front servo. So then I suspect u don’t have enough clearance/springs in the front drum. U need bare minimum .020 thou clearance per clutch...

    Does that rmvb have low band apply? What are the clearances in both drums? How many clutches in each drum?

    Since when did fram market trans rebuild kits?

    I used some cheap kits in the mid 90s. I never had an y problems with them. Only in old timers vehicles or poor ppl that I knew didn’t have the money. Those times I barely made a few dollars to buy groceries. But I felt better for helping the less fortunate.

    Your trans tail shaft let’s say is level:0*. U want the front of the pinion down about 2-3 *. So at minus 2* at least. Yes the pinion yoke will be slightly down. Ever have the pinion higher than the tail housing. Kim

    The higher the ratio, the more apply torque the lever exerts on the band. U need less turns adjust it to. 5.0 = 1.5 turns. 4.2=1.75 turns. 3.8=2turns 3.2=2.25 turns. 2.9=2.5 turns. This is not written in stone as front clutch clearance and the number of springs in it also play a factor in...
