Brake Improvements - Looking for thoughts

I put Teflon tape on the threads for that reason. I was still getting small bubbles fairly constantly, I'm not sure if they were in the system or I had a loose connection somewhere or they were still pulling past the threads.

Brake Improvements - Looking for thoughts

I replaced the speed bleeders with regular bleeders and hooked my MityVac to each caliper. I pulled a reservoir full of fluid through each one and got a ton of air out. It must have been trapped just right that regular bleeding wouldn't push it out. The pedal is mostly rock solid now with...

Brake Improvements - Looking for thoughts

Well, I got the new master installed and plumbed. Have now bled these things about 5 times, and still have a squishy pedal for the first half. Hooked up my power bleeder pumped it to 10 psi, opened a bleeder and nothing came out. Pushed the pedal a little and the master sprayed fluid...

Rotor for my SSBC A1531 conversion

Can't help on the rotor, but they use D11 pads, which are a 1967 Mustang pad I believe. Maybe the rotor matches?

How Do I Adjust A Subwoofer For Best Sound?

I always followed that rule too, but I just got a new set of subs with neodyum magnets on them. Each sub weighs only a couple pounds and the magnets are smaller than a hockey puck. They hit harder than the JL's I used to run 20 years ago. I really wasn't expecting much out of them...

    Bose speaker usage question

Make sure your head unit can run an 8 ohm speaker, most automotive radios are designed to run 4 ohm speakers.

EFI considerations for a 1970 383 with very mid cam

I'll be the odd man out here and toss one in the hat for FiTech. I've been running mine issue free since the day they came out about 8 years ago. I have read many horror stories about them, which most are installer error. The Sniper does seem to have a little more tunability available in...

Let’s see a picture of your car!!

Thanks, I just stepped up in tire size to a 305/45 (28"×12"), but don't have any pics yet. They fill out the wheel well a lot better.

    New Batteries for Worklight

Wow, that's a huge capacity!! I think Panasonic and Samsung are two of the best. Eneloop and Orbtronic use Panasonic cells, I'm not sure who uses Samsung. If you buy generic ones, I'm sure they'll work just fine, just maybe not last as long.

    72 duster resto

I just put a cam in my 440, I used one of Comps kits for all of the parts. Break in went fine and so far I have 20 miles on it.

    New Batteries for Worklight

Get a good name brand for them as well. I haven't seen any with that capacity before, but I'm sure they must exist. I've had good luck with Orbtronic. I believe they use Panasonic batteries. I have a set from 2016 and a set from 2019, both sets still going strong.

    Guns, Dogs and Blades QnA

I bet we made it about 40 minutes, ut we all kept taking turns, so lots of rest between, but like you said, the kids weren't focused after a while. My buddy's dad drools over my 308 everytime we go, he always offers to buy it, but never a serious offer. Not sure I'd let it go anyway, I have...

    Guns, Dogs and Blades QnA

We ended up going last weekend. We invited my son's friend and his dad to join us. The rental youth guns they had were slim pickings. The first one was a youth 20 with a 32" barrel, which was pretty hard for the boys to swing. We went back for another one and we got one that was shorter...

Brake Improvements - Looking for thoughts

I just went out and measured (well attempted to) pressures. Front left gave me 700psi under what I consider a normal pedal effort and 1400 under a panic stop Front right gave me 800 and 1500, so those make sense. I went to do the rear, removed the bleed screw, put my gauge in, and have zero...

Brake Improvements - Looking for thoughts

Yes, it's a 440, here's pic from cruising this weekend. I was trying to look around on here for the pedal ratio to confirm, I have seen someone say it is 6.5:1, but when I threw a quick tape on mine, it was closer to 5.5:1, a little lower than what it should be for manual brakes. I'm...

Brake Improvements - Looking for thoughts

The pedal is hard and sits at the top of the travel, there is no spongyness to it when I start to brakes. The hardliners are about 2 years old and the flex lines are all braided stainless, also just a couple years old. I do have a line lock on the front circuit, I could remove it and see if...

Brake Improvements - Looking for thoughts

The pads were properly bed, when I switch to the Power Stop pads, I'll make sure to follow their procedure. I don't expect to lock up the rears since they are 315mm wide ET Streets, the fronts are 215 BFG GForce Comp TAs, a grippy tire. I had read that too about the master, I currently have...

72 Duster 440, 4 Speed 215s up front and 315s put back. For front brakes I am running the SSBC 11" 4 piston disc conversion, which I think just use KH calipers, with their upgraded pads, it have a set of Power Stop pads ready to install. A153 Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit, Mopar Non Power...

1969 Race Dart w/ 426 Hemi- garaged for 45+ years

I'd guess no less than 35k, probably closer to 45. Edit: labor ranges from $120-170 an hour around me, depending on shop. The hemi is what's throwing me off, I know what they cost to buy, but no idea on a rebuild, I assume it's considerably more than a 440. Either way, awesome build and...
