Finally had a sunny day around here.

Got it drug back home, now to finish getting the last bit of engine stuff for it.

First time in 30+ years it hasn't had a lift off hood, also had to see the color in the sunlight.

Does it count if I took a 10 year break? :poke:

It's a non Mopar shade (shame on me, I know). Car originally would've been F8 green lol. Thanks! It was a tad rough.

I'm the same way but I wanted to just start with the bay so I can get the drivetrain and whatnot back in. Then once it's running/driving I can worry about the outside of it.

Last round of sanding is done, looking like paint Wednesday.

Got all the final body work (upper corners of cowl were bashed in for the hood pins) and last coat of primer laid on it today.

Got most of it in primer now.

Got most of the filler on and blocked then the first coat of primer down. Passenger side turned out a little better in my eyes but nothing more blocking won't fix.

Didn't have as much time for it today but got the first coat of filler down and sanded.

It was covered in spray paint and you cannot spray anything over it (it’ll cause a reaction in my experience). If it’s original paint you can get by with just sanding it. Thanks!

Now I can move on to filler work and primer, glad that is over with

Now we're down to the stuff that doesn't progress as fast in photos lol, got a lot of it ground down today.

Stopping point for the day, everything is ready to be ground down tomorrow.

Got the pass side all welded up today and picked up a hood for it.

Got the cover plates off the firewall and started sanding, the F8 under them was still nice and shiny haha. Probably been on it since the '70s.

Got it dropped off so I can start on it next week.

Got it loaded up to take over to a buddy's shop so I can do the engine bay body work and paint. I'll do the rest of it later on after the car is going.

I messed with it a little today, still waiting on the retainers for the hood hinges to show up. Dug through my hoard and found the latch support and all the needed hardware for install.

Hit up the Indy swap meet and got some nice hood hinges, engine paint from Mancini and new in box set of Johnson solid lifters.

Looks like a good start for a tube chassis drag car, it already needs 2 frame rails anyhow.

Got the top end tore off the 340 tonight, doesn't look much different inside than it did when I put it together over a decade ago.

Got the bay stripped a little more today, going to go look at a couple parts cars tomorrow hopefully.

Depends on who you ask, they're fun to autocross. Last one had a decently built 2.4 turbo in it :lol:

Where I ended the day off at, rust isn't bad at all for a car that has sat more than ran since the mid '90s.
