Back in the 70s and 80s my buddy would advance the cam gear 1 tooth on stock non hp engines. Really seemed to perk them up. I’m thinking it was 8* or more. I’m sure someone will do the math. Kim

Be careful using words like “any”, “every”, “always”, etc. The results with things like cam timing are rarely definitive. For example, if the cam has 4 degrees ground in already, and you move it forward 4 more degrees, do you think what you said would still hold true?

It is possible that the federal E58 from ‘75-‘77 didn’t get a single exhaust or a cat.

It’s a valid test but you should also test them for flow. They can click and not flow fuel. Running pressure to em and cycling them in to a bucket is a good idea.

Here is a MoPar 6-way power seat track from a C-body split bench I believe, probably mid 70’s? The measurement on the mounting studs is 11”x16” but I don’t think the passenger side had a power seat.

The dealer info stills says 8.4:1 for ‘75 and ‘76. My guess is the power loss is due to tuning changes to get the motor through emissions with the dual exhaust and no cats. Assuming the link I posted had an accurate recollection and the ‘75 and ‘76 A-Body did still had dual exhaust and no cat...
