This is one reason why I chose the camshaft I did for Vixen's engine. It's only .465 lift. I wanted to keep the lift low, so as not to run into any problems having to use a spring with lots of pressure. I knew it would last a long time. Even though the engine isn't stock and sounds pretty nasty...
Both of my D100's have 8.25 axles
Both were 225, 833 OD trucks.
The 1980 has 5 on 4.5, the 1987 has 5 on 5 bolt pattern.
Oddly enough, the 9 1/4 axles from Dakota R/T trucks (I have one and a spare axle) are wider than the D 100 axles!

Here is a "Comment" on Dodge Talk about the '78 LRE having the '68 340 auto spec cam, but the '79 LRE did not, as Regular Jay stated above about his '79 LRE.
I can see that happening with the stricter emissions regulations coming up in '79, with the addition of the catalytic converters and a...
I’ve run the engine with the cap off to watch the coolant flow. No real issues . The hoses get pretty hard like pressure build up . Thought maybe head gasket but chemical tests came out negative. I’ve tried different caps . No change. I have always felt the hoses got Way too hard.
I am in need of the headlight trim piece, drivers side, for a 65 Dart. I have heard it is also referred to as a “ candy cane” because of its shape. You can see in the picture that mine is dented and is being held in by a screw.
Thanks
