Killer why do you think the 2 numbers are different? Since there was a different gasket, do you think one was cut?

Yes it does! 11-high 10's. Destroked 300, 2700 lbs car.

Ok, gotcha. I should make a chart of that, do you think that would indicate chamber volume?

True dat. I have been slowly increasing air pressure to get a little spin. I started at 14, Sunday I was at 18. The tire patch looks to be around 11 inches now. I spent some time on the phone today with Six Gun Scott. We talked about clutch combinations and other stuff to make it launch. He has...

No, around 10.5 to 10.75. I should have cut the head a few more thousands, but it's at .100 now so I thought was enough right now. When that other head was leaking water, I was pretty disappointed and wanted something I knew to be ok. I am going to get that other head going with a better set of...

@RustyRatRod It does doesn't it! It really started doing what I "thought" the "old" engine should have been doing. I have a good ring seal now, more compression, better head, more cam, etc. It feels good to get this 60 year old piece of cast iron starting to sing. Or at least, clear her throat!

@64plymouth Good to hear some back story. It is owned by Curtis Wells now, he lives in Cleburne TX and does quite well with it. It would have been to put them on the track at the same time!

I got the last pass uploaded, here is the link. The Colt came up faster than expected into the video frame. But it sounded good.

@weedburner, @19DART66, thanks for those comments. But, last year at MOKAN I took the tamer off because I was having so many issues with the car. The clutch pedal was binding and I was just trying to get in a few runs. I plan to work on that stuff in the next month and then go back with the...

I got out to Xtreme last night, they were PACKED! Best (best?) time last year was a 8.9 @ 77 mph. Both runs last night were better, much better. 1st run was 8.7 @ 85 mph. 2 tenths and 8 miles better. 2nd run was 8.49 @ 87 mph, almost 10 mph better than last years best. Both runs were done with...

One last post tonight. I passed 500 subscribers to my YouTube channel this weekend! It's not much but I thought that was pretty cool!

I started moving engines from my garage to the new shop in the back yard. I was joking with my friend Mark G about Total Seal piston Rings today. I sent him a picture of my "total seal" engine I forgot I had. Looks like 100% seal to me! LOL PS, that is vinegar in a stuck slant!

I sold my old belts to a couple of young hot rodders for their street car. It's been a couple of weeks. I did not tow to MOKAN last week. We had very bad storms from Texas to Missouri last week. I didn't feel comfortable towing with Tornados all a round. I had been working for 5 months to be...

I looked up re-certs, after shipping it just was not worth the wait. These cost me about 10 bucks over the re-cert price. Xtreme and MOKAN don't look at them. Deb is happy now.

I never moved the dist during the head replacement. I was pretty sure it would light off right away. I did something right for a change.

I have .091 off the block as well. So I hope around 10.75. Steel shim gasket. That other head should have been at least 12 something, but that is another story. Man I appreciate all you guys following along. I just ran it again with water and I don't see any mixing. I let it get to 200 deg. or...

Back at it after Eclipse friends left. I had hoped to get it started today, but just ran out of me. But I do like the way that ARP Lube works, head pulled down so nice. I clean all the extra goop off so it doesn't run all inside the engine. It's hard to clean. Maybe tomorrow I will get it started.

Picked up my head from the shop today. Man prices have gone through the roof. Glad I took all my parts and just needed machine work. But I am very happy with the work and how it turned out. 50 thousand cut, so now the head is cut .100. Bronze wall guides, 11/32 stem valves. 1.78 Intake, 1.50...

I used the wire deal, they are all about .6 inches except the last one which is .9 and doesn't go into water.
