...the gas level in there.
As said before, choke closed more and it speeds up mans it wants a richer mixture.
Coming behind any one can be a cluster**** that has "tied" to work on an old car.
Like you just said, you can have issues with electrical inc. distributor. Thats another ball game...
I had about a dozen sb and bb six pac cars decades ago, and I had a few carb fires myself, just didn't burn nothing down.. thankfully!!!
Like said NOTHING inexpensive about those six pac setups!!!!! Nothing yesterday and probably less likely today!
My old Mopar buddy that had raced, built motors, you name it....burned down his $400,000 home with what ya got there!!!
Wife was not happy. Be careful!
^^There goes the Ca. grammar cops...again!!!!
Mom said "buy low and sell high." Then she said better yet "son, move to Ca. where you can learn to read and write like all the smart people"! :poke:
:rofl: :thumbsup: :steering::steering::steering::steering::steering::steering:
Life is an adventure.
Driving an old car should be an adventure.
Adventure does not mean a carb and set of points/condensor will not get you there just fine!!!!:poke:
When I want NO adventure, I take the modern vehicle. OK so the cummins ram is 27 years old now!!
^^^ IF I had known of his problem. I would have ordered him a brand spanking new sock for it. This was before cell phones and I doubt he could have afforded one anyway! I still never carry one and usually just tell the wife to dial whatever!! LOL
His problem was the sock was missing in every tank he used!!!! He had no idea or the $ to get a sock or where and how to order such!!! This was back about mid to late 90's/
I sold a Duster to young ish mechanic buddy years ago. I drove it to work 60 mi one way every day before he bought it. No problem with me. The Duster did the same thing to him as the P here talks of, he replaced the gas tank 3 times (WHY!!!!) only to find a a dead bug in the long fuel line (...
Maybe has nothing to do with the float, but run the gas line OVER the valve over and get it away fro exh. man. ?
By the way. that is one sexy slant!!!!
I have had to weld an extension to the end of the filler neck on some models!!!!! I just did the 62 Dart other day, with ne rubber tank grommet I bet I pull it out and weld an extension to it after I get it running/driving!!!
Like said, good gears and convertor, makes all the world difference in seat of the pants feeling power. Yes way easier to bolt on a four barrel and great to hear the other barrels kick in. No doubt, vac. advance will make some difference.
