[FOR SALE] OEM Big Block 727 Kick Down Rod W/Clip

This is a OEM Big Block 727 Kick Down Rod W/Clip. It is original, not a china knockoff. It came off of a 1968 GTX, but will also work on many other big block years and models. I don't know if it will work on small blocks. It is 13 3/4", and has the adjustable clip on the upper end. It is in...

Installed new coil, now the tach acts funny

I have used a tach buffer cct that I got from Peter Serio, a fellow in the US that repairs car instruments & gauges & knows his electronics. I have used it with HEI dists that are used with cars that originally had points. It is a bit more than a resistor....but easy to consruct for a few bucks...

440 power gains/ aluminum head advantages?

The answer to post #43 is smart people look at what the other guy is doing; maybe they will pick up some ideas that will improve their performance.....

    Nicks Garage 383 build

The SD 455 was hampered by a 8.4:1 CR....& cam. Pontiac wanted to run the Ram Air 4 cam which was pretty stout for a production car, 231/240 @ 050 & had over .500" valve lift....but failed 1973 emissions. A milder cam was installed...& lost power. I believe it did 13s with the RA4 cam, showroom...

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

All that added pollution control equipment sure is taxing on a simple V8, 4 barrel engine. Not to mention all that stuff is 45 years old and it all has to work if it is going to pass the emissions tests. If the truck has been sitting around and not being driven regularly, all the worse...

    Rocker Arm Adjuster Setup

I would venture that the reason for keeping the adjuster cup close to the rocker has nothing to do with strength.......but more to do with rocker ratio. The further out of the body the adjuster is, the more 'ratio' that is lost on the prod side resulting in lost valve lift & duration.

    73 Duster build named Fred

I will be there tomorrow night through Saturday with a couple friends. Looking forward to seeing the engine out of my dart make some passes in my buddies race car. It was never going to make passes in mine since I am building a new engine so it will be cool to see it run. See you there Bill, and...

How much would you pay for this 340?

IF the crank rotated, I would pay $500 MAX. And that would still be a gamble.

Yeah. If you know a guy with a lathe, that’s about 10 minutes to make a spacer..

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

I got a look at a Mitchell emissions book and another book I can't remember the name of today. Answers are still fuzzy but this is what I learned. It goes by year, type of vehicle (truck/van) and gross vehicle weight. 1978 has much less in the way of emissions because Dodge utilized the...

What do I need and what do I don’t!

Depending on when your 75 was made, it might still have some remnants of the 74 seat belt interlock system that was a one year disaster. If yours was an early build (August, September or October) 1975 then it likely still has wires for it. Post up some pictures of your engine bay and your...

    318 Poly Flow Test

That's the best MO, You work those & get great #'s in a tight bore, most cases it only gets better from there...but being these are totally different design heads, I'm curious how they compare with the closer bore proximity, strictly flow-wise anyhow.

John's addicted to burning race fuel and rubber, with out it he suffers severe depression, headaches and can be very cranky. lol He likes to cook to keep his mind off it, but he can only eat so much. So lets hope the 2024 race season brings the needed therapy.

What do I need and what do I don’t!

So a stock 318 with bolt on parts. Yeah gotta have that MSD. They too have failure rates and some of them are quite frequent.

What do I need and what do I don’t!

Wiring degrades over time from carrying current, so yes, it is old and used because of age. Plenty of cars have burned to the ground because of hacking old and new together. Good luck!
