Enjoy the day! It needs a complete circuit. Then troubleshoot. Troubleshooting the gage circuits is pretty straightforward. Solutions not so much so but all doable except the accuracy of replacements. RTE is/was making a IVR replacement that better mimiced the pulse feed. Need the...

Hope you can make lemonade out of lemons. Lots to see 'n do out there. make you're own tour. Lets see Nashville. What might there be to do in Nashville? Music! Except on Sunday, and Good Friday. Don't ask me how I know that. IIRC a bit to the NE is Ft Donaldson (one hell of a Valentine's...

Beautiful car. A guy used to show up to the Philly region autocrosses with a yellow convertible -might have been a '76 but I think a '78. All stock and couldn't figure out why his times were always longer than mine. A couple years into this he tells me that he went to my website and saw what...

6500? Extra zero? how many really registered? Google maps: Not too bad on the regular computer. Sometimes I print off a few key things and then also draw and write out whatever else I need or think I need. From there I do it the old fashioned way - paper maps and ask directions. @71GSSDemon...

This was the one of the longest times I've spent on a regular oil change. The new threads look great, so it wasn't stripping. Fail #1. Finger tight and see the gasket surface isn't quite square to the threads. :( Fail #2. Ream out the thicker fabric-rubber gaskets to .6" and for good...

Doesn't help. Although the MTBE reformulated stuff was just awful so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. Good reminder. I just pulled the car out of the garage and the tank is 3/4 full .......with winter fuel :BangHead: Phooey. Worst case I'll siphon it down. Very unfun.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Exactly. The car manufacturers aren't all the dummies us experts make them out to be. After all their calculations and experience, they still test to the extreme. Jaguar had a car, or maybe it was two, that spend the summer in Death Valley and the Winter in the Upper Peninsula - and they're...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Maybe but at the heart of it I don't think so. A hot rod and a factory engine have to produce the same power to move a vehicle at 60 mph or whatever. I suspect its because parts don't match and the systems don't do what they need to do under all conditions. The more improvements that were...

Twice the avg mpg of my jeep this last trip avg 70-75 mph Band only if 1st and reverse don't engage but 2 & 3rd do. Since he said it was delayed on the shift up, that leaves open other possibilities. Up shift releases the low band. Could be something related to pressure - filter, pump, gov...
