Smallest wheels you can fit on a 8.8 drum brake rear. Explorer

I know the ranger would fit better but I already got a great price with the gearing I wanted and a lsd in the explorer axel. I need to see what changes between the ranger and explorer. Or I'm pretty sure the explorer stuff would fit in a ranger housing. No idea if the axel shafts are the same...

Mopar 413/426 Max Wedge block casting number confusion

On this post the pad shows an "S". On my 1964 Chrysler 300-K (not RAM). At the far right of the pad after the "HP" there is the same fancy font "S". Has anyone every figured out what that indicates? Some sources say it indicates "special" but it does not say what is special about the engine...

1964, 1965 or 1966 Barracuda ? Cant seem to find what I need to on the VIN! .

This car has a VIN assigned by a state or province, can't tell which one. The original VIN was evidently removed at some point, or fell off, they were spot welded in place. Post a picture of the fender tag, on the top of the driver's side inner fender, that will give us more clues to what the...

    won't start....

Yes, the positive to the starter is energized, its the wire from the starter relay to the starter that's not energizing. Yes, I have two separate grounds to the engine, one to the firewall and one from the starter body to a lug that goes to the negative battery terminal.

I see you are from BC. Your VIN tag looks like it is a Canadian built car possibly and I believe the VIN's are different than the American built cars.Hopefully someone can decode it for you. I removed your parts request. Once you figure out what you have, you can start a part wanted thread in...

360 stalls on deceleration from throttle blip

...running on the ported side for my vacuum took care of my stalling after hitting throttle hard and letting it off quickly it doesn’t die. I was able to set timing to 10* and idles well at about 800-850. I’m wondering what the normal rpm fluctuation is at that idle. Mine jumps around 30. Is...

    won't start....

OK, I'll check that next. I don't think it's the ground, because I have two separate grounds to the engine, one to the firewall and another to a negative lug that goes directly to the battery negative.

Almost appears to be a state issued replacement? Would that be something indicated on the title?

383 knock goes away on warmup

If it sounds like all eight knocking like a diesel, it's piston slap. If it has forged pistons in it, that's all it is and it's normal. All modern forged pistons and some high end modern cast pistons are "cam ground". That means at room temperature they are not round, but oval. They have...

Is there power at the starter relay? You can jump it with a screwdriver there to test. Did you ground the engine to the body?

Interesting. I've not see a tag like that. My 64 Valiant is plain silver on the body between the driver door hinges. Where is this located? Waiting to see what others weigh in with Good luck
