Stop in for a cup of coffee

Yay but in DC metro traffic are you listening to Lopey cammed up American made v8s by the thousands? No probably not. Remember, this is about having a good time, not making good time. The way things used to be when America was America and not the mess it is today

Stop in for a cup of coffee

So this mornings makeshift on the fly at the gas station convoy is led by a 69 383 dodge charger, with a couple GTOs and some shoebox Chevys , a 34 ford. And tail end Charlie is a 69 440 powered General Lee, who better to run blocked

Stop in for a cup of coffee

That’s what I did in 2019. Never went to the venues. Just got to the venue entrances and then hit the road. Only reason I did venues this year was cause Tim was going. And it’s the only reason I’m gonna attempt the next 3 venues.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Thing is, so far , most of these are just cruisers. No high horsepower straight piped 1000 hp monsters. The loudest might just be this little deuce coupe with side pipes.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

As bad as this luck has been this week, I’m loving it. My son is loving it(although he’s just as mad as Tim about the trailer thing which I find absolutely hilarious that it’s bad enough to piss off an 8 year old) . Gonna do this again. And honestly, I’m probably just gonna skip venues when I...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

This camping thing was the best idea ever. Hotrods have taken over an entire camp ground and I’m surround by American muscle all sleeping out of tents and their cars! And the best part I can hear that beep beep Karen chick whining all the way from across the campgrounds!

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Oh sorry. Colton is my 8 year old son. There’s a long standing tradition on Power Tour of passing out hot wheel toy cars to kids along the route. Well I followed about 12 hot rods into the camp grounds where we staying and Colton tossed a one to a kid about his age. Next thing I know I’ve got...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

It’s not Hot Rod. It’s the venue staff that caused the issue. Hence why they’re saying to contact them(hot rod). Everyone at hotrod tent didn’t seem to have any issue with it. I think you had someone have an ego moment

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well @Mopar Tim thought he’d have the law called on him, I just did have it called on me. Some Karen wigged out cause Colton gave her kid a hot wheel… so she called the park rangers

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Nashville Speedway wasn’t bad at all. I was parked within minutes. But the smaller speedways and venues can be a problem. Especially day 1 when EVERYONE who registers all tries to come in, seemingly at the same time. By day 3, there’s typically much less traffic

Stop in for a cup of coffee

There’s also a few hundred that join as the tour goes from leg to leg too. I just left and there’s a line 1/2 mile long to get in still.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Yeah it’s total Bs. But I’m gonna try to make the rest of the venues to get his stuff stamped and his goodie bag. Hopefully…. Yep Not an extra zero at all. 6500ish is the official registered across all pass types. They usually announce the total the start of the third day to see who all...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

We’ve made it to stop 2, Nashville Speedway. We’ve learned a few things: 1: The Route on Google Maps sucks, actually the Google Maps app itself sucks. Had to navigate the old way with a map. 2: Getting 6500 cars through small towns is hilarious. 3: Tims luck is as bad if not worse than mine...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

The power tour? It’s a blast. I only did one leg of it in 2019. This year I should hit 4 of the 5 venues. The worst part is the traffic to get into the venue. That’s where the traffic jams occur. But the fun is in the route there, seeing old Main Street Americas, old family diners to try...
