    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

I never mentioned you making a reference to KB pistons. I got that information from the OP's very first post #1 Tom

    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

This is the part that always get me with threads like this. You want 450 HP or more from a stoke stroke crankshaft, but it's street car, so drivability is a must. That requires at least 1.32 HP per cubic inch, and while achieving that is possible, it's not going to have street manners. I...

    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

I am getting to the party late, but there is no way I would use Keith Black pistons. You can get a much higher quality off the shelf piston with ICON and they have a lot of SBM options. Tom

[FOR SALE] Rare "NRS" Nationwise Rod Shop Small Block Valve Covers - Price Drop!!!

These are rare and very cool valve covers. They could be NOS because they don't look like they have ever been installed. No embedded marks on the bolt down tabs. All I can say is they look unused. These belong to my elderly friend that had them for a future project, but he got to old before...

Changing crankshaft bearings with the engine in the car.

If it requires bearings it's really a lot easier to just pull the engine. It's a lot faster and safer to me. Tom

[SOLD] New Aftermarket Big Block Main Caps

I guess you don't know a 383 has 2.625" diameter main journals and a 440 has 2.75" diameter main journal. Thus the reason for the question above. They can't fit both, so which one do they fit? PRW doesn't even know what they are selling, as I looked on their website and got nowhere. Tom

[WANTED] Long Shot Here - Looking for a 1937 Nash Coupe, or possibly other 37-38 5-Window Coupes or Convertible Projects, Rollers, Drivers - No GM Cars

That's a sweet ride, but not enough sloop off the roof and way to nice of a car to chop. It could be "Todo Locochon" though. Thanks, Tom

[WANTED] Long Shot Here - Looking for a 1937 Nash Coupe, or possibly other 37-38 5-Window Coupes or Convertible Projects, Rollers, Drivers - No GM Cars

I know it's probably a long shot here, but I am looking for a good solid, stock roller (I don't necessarily need the drivetrain) complete car, or a driver. No junk please. Can basically be any brand except GM models. 37 Nash Coupe is what I would really like. Studebaker, Packard, would also be...

[SOLD] New Aftermarket Big Block Main Caps

The box shows 383-440 and the caps themselves are showing a 383 designation, so what are they? 383 or 440 caps? Because they can't be both, as they are different sizes. Tom

    Interesting intake on Facebook tonight

Pro Stock brand was a brand name that sold low quality, cheap stuff that wasn't on par with other brand names. Their valve covers were so bad the mounting tabs cracked off if you put a little to much torque on them. Honestly I'll bet a standard Edelbrock Performer will outperform it by a long...

    Magnum exhaust manifold studs.

Stay away from hardware store stainless steel all thread and stainless bolts from a hardware stores. Most of those are Grade 2 at best. If you want stainless studs call ARP. ARP only has about 10% of what they manufacture in the catalog, so if you don't see what you're after that doesn't mean...

Pin hole in cast iron head

I don't see the need to sleeve that area on a big block head with it being so easy to fill in with just epoxy. I've done this on race and street heads for more than 20 years and never had any issues doing it this way. Tom

Pin hole in cast iron head

No, Just ground thru where the pushrod used to be. I grind the wall back so the pushrod bump is gone in the port. Then duct tape the inside of the port, stand it up, and fill the back side in with JB Weld. Since it's thicker on the outside of the head than the slot in the port the epoxy is in a...
