    I always go by effective length but some manufactures use overall length. The EDM SFT lifters I use are basically hollow hyd lifters with the EDM hole. Very light and hold up well on my street/strip setup.

    Is that pushrod 8" long? I've always ended up using a pushrod in the 7.2 - 7.3 range. I having never run the heads you have but I would definitely be looking into pushrod length and valve train geometry.

    The small outer circumference weights are normally there to neutral balance the converter. External balance are then added for particular engine balance.

    My car runs very close to correction. You can keep some data notes and try to run your car this fall when the air is better. Closer you are to 0 feet the smaller correction if your tune and chassis setup is right.

    I've beat on an eagle forged crank in my 340 for 12 years. I've seen people break cast cranks.

    With a street tire you should feather the car out of the hole about ten feet and then be able to floor it to control wheel spin. A safety loop and drag radials would help the et and fun factor.

    put the car on the ground, fill fuel, spare tire etc. take a short drive to settle front and rear suspension. I would shim fwd if my car looked like that after a short test drive.

    my bad, my old trw flat tops are not. My pistons are .022-.025 above deck and I run a .060 thick composite gasket with closed chamber heads for many years.

    If the 904 you have has the low gear set in it the 2.76 or 2.94gear 26" tire works great for a cruiser. I've run fast ramp SFT cams with EDM lifters for years with great longevity. The XE262 hydraulic had 2 lobes and lifters start to go flat in 6 months which is why I won't run a hyd any more...

    Modify the dizzy housing to add an adjustable stop and run any Vac can you want. Any time the Vac can diaphragm fails you have a vacuum leak.

    I would run a SFT with EDM lifters. I've had great longevity and power with the Lunati Vodoo cams. You will also loose around .020-.025 lift at the valve with the SBM pushrod geometry from a cams listed lift.
