There's always more than one way to skin a cat. My project has stalled due to me going back to work. But that means more cash for parts when I need some parts.

Since the Dakota frame sweeps up isn't the wood going to hit the frame making the bed sit higher? I'm using the metal from the Dakota bed, from the bed to the bend in the bed side is 9". How tall the wood to the bend on your bed?

I almost bought a set of those at the last swap meet. Yes the early dakotas were five lug. Problem is our pull a prts take the wheels and tires off before they hit the yard.

Nice work! The rear bumper for a 48 Chevy fits the front end nicely. Picking both up at the swap meet for $40 was a good deal. Also new one are like $159 new from LMC truck parts. What are you going to run for wheels? The standard 60s' cap fits the spare steel wheels but isn't too blingy...

Most are 245/45/17 and 275/40/17 because they are the same height. The 275/40/17 are wider than the front.

Yeah running the spacer is the easy way out. Just got done rotary filing my front wheels. To those making the ford wheels fit make sure the seat all to the rotor. My wheels looked seated but the had a couple of thousandths between. Now I need to move my rear springs in to fit the 9" wheels.

The length will probably be too long rather than the perch being too narrow.

What size wheel? 225 60 15 all the way around is the biggest rotatable tire. 245/60/15 is the biggest in the rear.

The bigger rim diameter makes it possible for more backspacing in the front. This keeps the tire out of the fender well. Upgrading to the 12" discs allows you to bolt on the 5.72 backspace mustang wheels. If you run a b-body rear end you can also run the 5.72 backspace wheels so you can rotate...

What is the biggest tire you can rotate front to back without rubbing in the front? Is it a 245 45 17?

Late to the party but, most of the front wheel drive K cars have simular lighter springs to use on the fiber glass hoods. The car is looking real good!

What would be the better set up for handling on a 70 Dart? 1 1.03 t-bars with sway bars front and rear, kyb shocks, stock rear springs. 2 Stock t-bars with sway bars front and rear, kyb shocks, stock rear springs. Both set ups would be run with 17" wheels 225/45/17 tires. Thanks!:prayer:
