    universal air conditioning and heater

I have a Vintage Air in my Challenger. Even fully charged it does not get really cold, but cool. The evap is probably 1/2 the size of an original one and the condenser is mounted right up against the radiator. Yes, they fit the car for the most part, but they are also a compromise. I agree 100%...

QA1 or PST for upper control arms?

Yep, you can dial in just about as much caster as you want.

    Pressure regulator?

If the carbs are tired it certainly would not hurt to rebuild them. Not an expensive proposition.

QA1 or PST for upper control arms?

Get the ones Peter Bergman sells (Home - Bergman Auto Craft - Home of Quality Muscle Car Parts). You'll be glad you did.

HEI conversion Dodge ram truck coil

Didn't GM go to the large distributor cap to provide more terminal isolation because of the larger plug gaps? With wide gaps I'd be concerned about internal cap arcing when using increased plug gaps. May not be an issue up to a certain gap though.

Anyone Running Progressive Ignition Distributor with Trickflow 240 Heads on 440?

Thanks for the pics! When I get my engine back together I may get that distributor and see what needs to be done to make it fit. I talked with Ted yesterday at PI and he said he would allow me to return the distributor if it did not fit, even if I mod the distributor. Seems like a great guy to...

Anyone Running Progressive Ignition Distributor with Trickflow 240 Heads on 440?

Thanks. I talked with Ted at PI via email yesterday. They only do the small cap on 440's now. Also, the small cap only has the HEI style male plug towers as well. That will force me to get different spark plug wires, or if there is enough slack to re-terminate them. Their specs say the PI...

Anyone Running Progressive Ignition Distributor with Trickflow 240 Heads on 440?

Considering the purchase of the PI distributor. Wanting to know if there are any clearance issues that need to be dealt with.

Is a deeper pan worth it?

Yes, everything for the swap was included!

Is a deeper pan worth it?

Yeah, and they are mighty proud of them too. I got a steel pan from A&A for a better price. Also installed a large cooler up front!

    Random Thermoquad Carb

Not just hard to see, but on old neglected TQ's the threads are absolutely frozen into the base plate too. Ugh.

    Kickdown issue

I used that package when it was available from Direct Connection many years ago. Worked great on my '68 valve body!

    Engine Installation

I hear 'ya. I've used the lifting plate on a small block with aluminum heads & AG intake. The 440 is heavier though. The Trickflow heads I have do not have holes in the back side of the head, so can't do that.

    Engine Installation

I have a 440 with aluminum heads & performer intake. I removed the engine after the heads were removed but would prefer to install it with the heads and intake installed. I've heard stories of the carb studs being pulled out of the intake so am a little concerned about using my carb plate as the...

Trying out a spreadbore carb on the Duster.

Generally speaking, the spreadbore carbs have single holes drilled for mounting them while square bore carbs often have two (so they can be mounted on OE spreadbore manifolds. Holley 4165 carbs (and quadrajets/thermoquads) are a good example of spreadbore carbs.

Trying out a spreadbore carb on the Duster.

Just because the secondaries are bigger does not mean it is a SB. The AFB is considered a squarebore.

Trying out a spreadbore carb on the Duster.

Like Mike said, if you want to try a spreadbore, go to a thermoquad. Tuned properly, they are awesome! Second only to the TQ is the square bore Edelbrock AVS2 series. The annular boosters provide vastly improved low and mid range throttle response over any Holley I've ever used. Edit: the AFB...

    Intermediate Shaft Wear

I did not. Since the gear was eaten and I found metal in the oil on the valve cover rail I did not see the point. I'm sure the filter picked up a lot of metal, that's it's job. To me the point of inspecting the filter would be at an oil change to ensure the engine was healthy. I now know it is...

    Intermediate Shaft Wear

Well, the verdict is in. Pulled a valve cover and wiped the rail with my finger onto a blue towel. If you look closely you'll see the small brass "sacrifice". Time to pull the engine.

    Intermediate Shaft Wear

I would like to know if that gear was run in a HV/HP pump! I really would like to have a better pump than a stock one, but the warning on the Hughes website is concerning, still.
