Don't read if you're close minded

Yes, the dual plane slipped my mind, sorry.

Don't read if you're close minded

The early 340’s didn’t have Thermoquads. I’m thinking 71 was the first year for them.

Don't read if you're close minded

The later thermoquad equipped engines did. One of the tricks I remember guys with the early 340 doing was installing the 750 AVS off a 440 on them, they always went faster.

Don't read if you're close minded

When I was in the building my 434 Brett Miller told me to go Dominator on a Dominator flanged intake. He also told me to not use an adapter on a 4150 intake, just stay with a 4150.

John Force in a bad bad wreck today

Don't the crew chiefs have a box so they pop the chutes if something goes wrong? My wife watched the video with me and was amazed he wasn't killed. Prayers for a speedy recovery

No prep Kings screws the pooch in Texas

I understand, you said “That website is STILL TAKING MONEY for the July race even though it's been cancelled! People are calling the track and demanding their money back.” I was merely point out they showed as canceled.

Indy 360-1 Cylinder heads on small block LA's

It's not hard to decipher, just a line instead of a chart.

On the NPK web site it shows the race at Xtreme as "cancelled".

    Quarter Mile Gear Selection

If I were the OP I'd go with 4.10's. When my dart had the 340 (apples to oranges I know) I went from a 3.91 to a 4.30 it only picked up .007 and that was in 60'. I like 1/8 mile racing but would like to run my car in the 1/4 again, in good air this time. It ran 10.008 At 134.74 in less than...

Indy 360-1 Cylinder heads on small block LA's

You had fun and didn't break anything, so it was a good outing. What were your 1/8 mile numbers?

    Small block w/ 3.79 crank

When i built my 434 several years ago Diamond would make two changes to the piston for no charge.

    Small block w/ 3.79 crank

I'd contact Brett Miller and pick his brain.

Thinking of switching from M1 single plane to LD340 but LD340 would need to be milled to fit. Is it worth it?

IMHO, if that engine picks up with a dual plane, something else is wrong with it. All of the 4" engines I've been around didn't need any extra bottom end.

Four Link Suspension, how does it work?

^^This^^ I did some shock testing a few years ago, my buddy came along and videoed the car. In real time it was hard to tell what the car was doing to the tire, in slo-mode it was wadding the tire up.

The truth about oil change intervals and analysis, Lake Speed

I saw the link to this video a couple weeks ago on another site but didn't check it out. While I was looking for something else on youtube it popped up so I watched, pretty interesting.

Time to start the build up

I trust my machine shop, but I measure everything before assembly. It could save a lot of heartburn later, cash too.

Dads Hemi Roadrunner finally making it to the track. I know not an A-body but it’s still exciting.

Has anyone heard from Bob? Years ago I always enjoyed reading his posts on another forum. Bob would be fun to sit down and have a beer with.

VIDS link added...Getting faster over here too finally.

I don't remember having T7D for a big block. Yes, I've been running small blocks for well over 30 years. I loved my big blocks in B bodies, not so much in A bodies. The last big block Dart I had was as exciting stopping as it was going, LOL. Healthy 440, 5.38 gears and 9" brakes, oh the...

    Nicks Garage 383 build

I'm with RAMM on the 383, never seen one that was very impressive. Years ago, I had a 71 RR with a tired 383. Being poor I did a stock rebuild, it was still a pig. Within a year I found a 67 440 out an IL state police car. I did the same poor boy rebuild, new valve job, hone, new rings, bearings...

Harmonic balancer tightening (crank bolt) engine in car with 4spd manual transmission

I’ve built several and never seen any pins. I always tighten the timing cover bolts after the damper is on.
