1964 Valiant "Get Runnin & Drivin"

For about the last 15 years of my "career" I drove $1000 Dusters to work, anywhere from 120 miles round trip to just 40 or so. (OK so that same old Duster would cost $2000-3000 today where I live. Yea that was back in the 90s, 2000s. I'd get the car running and with safe brakes, clean the gas...

I bought the wrong transmission for my 66.

If you can get a 5.125 retainer to bolt to your A833 4 speed and fix that issue, then it is a matter of correct shifter linkage for that shorter trans and cutting the DS down shorter. IF the A833 will bolt up to that OD bell!!! This is almost as bad as working on a Ford where they changed parts...

I bought the wrong transmission for my 66.

Bearing retainer is what I was trying to say! the 833 OD has a larger bearing retainer the the regular A833.

I bought the wrong transmission for my 66.

Seems like you trans is out of an F body or pickup. A short tail shaft A833 is correct for the Dart. Yep like you know, shorter than that OD trans, thus tail shaft issue. Question? Is the bolt pattern on the OD bell the same as needed for the A833 trans? Check!! Also check the input shaft...

For sure...now RRR and the little woman will get to the cafe for lunch quicker now!!!! Actually.... good size sway bars really make a difference. Years ago I bought my first BB A body, a 67 Cuda 383 4 speed, The PO had installed a big front aftermarket sway bar, it took corners almost...

    273 Commando - UTG

Once a guy told me I was a flipper, since in the last 50 odd years many old Mopars have passed thru my hands.....I replied I guess I could be called that, but I have dragged many an old car out of the dirt and saved it for someone. If I made a $ it went in to save another. Once a guy called me...

    273 Commando - UTG

Ole UT leaves himself wide open for criticism, discussion, ridicule...maybe that has always been his plan? I admit I have never been a UTube guy, but I believe Tony started it all with maybe trying to tell young guys they can build old cars that run without high $ parts. Maybe RoadKill gave...

    273 Commando - UTG

Over the years...I have referred to UT as FABO's "kickdog" as stale humor. Actually he is someone that people love to spend time hating, but like the guy said, "bad publicity is even good publicity!" It pays the bills!

1964 Valiant "Get Runnin & Drivin"

^^^ Thats how I have done it many times. I always wanted one of those little stretcher/shrinker tools!!!! I learned decades ago, IF I did a (rare?) car back to perfect, I was worried about driving it and getting a scratch or gravel peck... and I knew it would have to be sold to make way for...

    No Valiant Love?

And my I add this. So many times LESS is BETTER! Another way to say it, is LESS is actually MORE!!! Not everyone has the desire or ability to own a 71 Cuda or 69 Charger, or 68 Roadrunner and so the models that were born with less become the objects of our affection and desires. If we...

Lovely Day in St David Az

Might I add...a perfect example of how less can be so much MORE!!!! The art of the automotive designer, the fact that these simple cars offers so much style, simplicity to function, plus just not the cookie cutter old builds. Just part of why FABO is so popular!
